The Bilstein B8 Performance Plus Kit includes two front struts and two rear shocks. These shocks are for use with lowered springs such as from H&R or Eibach. We do not recommend that you use them with any factory spring, including factory sport package springs. With the increased damping rates from stock you will have much more control over body motions. These will give a much more buttoned down and taut feeling with lowering springs compared to stock shocks.

**FOR VEHICLES WITH SPORT SUSPENSION

To reduce the understeering affects of a staggered wheel setup you want a balanced set of sway bars. ECS has configured this anti-roll bar set for the non-M E46 with a 27mm adjustable front bar and a 21mm rear bar. The front is adjustable to two positions to fine-tune the handling and reduce understeer. The rear bar is fixed to retain the stock sway bar link. These anti-roll bars include urethane bushings with a reinforced inner liner that eliminates squeaks and doesn't require lubrication. The bars are powder coated for durability and good looks.

These bars fit in the stock locations using the existing brackets and links. Adjustable links are not required but recommended if the car is lowered or if you have coil overs (note: the rear bar is designed to only use the stock link, heavily lowered cars should not use this kit).

The bars are adjustable so any driver can find an ideal setup for the type of driving they are doing. The sway bar becomes stiffer in the hole(s) furthest from the end of the bar. The holes at the very end of the bar are the softest setting. We would generally recommend starting out with the front bar set to the stiffer setting and adjust to your liking from there.

**For vehicles with stock style springs**

When looking to dial in your steering geometry and alignment for reduced tire where and/or better track handling, the stock suspension is quite limited. To fix this, you can install Camber/Caster plates such as these plates from IRP. Camber/Caster plates allow for adjustment of the top position of the shock's mounting position. These slight adjustments have a huge impact on the stance of the of the wheel when driving straight down the road and when turning into a corner. With simple adjustments, you can increase the grip of the tires in hard turns, improve tread life, or even just make an alignment correction for a vehicle with a lowered ride height. 

The IRP Camber Caster plates are made of an aircraft grade aluminum body, for strength and low weight, with an adjustable mounting plate that utilizes a steel monoball mounting point. This makes the plate resistant to corrosion and prevents deformation even with the stiffest shocks and springs.

Control arm bushings play a key role in connecting the wheels to the chassis of the vehicle. Tasked with keeping suspension geometry in check while absorbing noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) factory rubber bushings were engineered to provide a balance of comfort and control. As a factory bushing ages, it becomes brittle and begins to harden. When this happens the bushing will actually shrink and allow excess play in the suspension joint. This is typically felt by a sudden jerk forward after the car comes to a stop and is a leading cause of "sloppy" or "loose" suspension feel. By replacing the bushing with a full polyurethane unit or using a bushing insert, this play is eliminated since the suspension joint is being supported by a much stiffer material that will not harden or shrink over time. This means steering inputs from the driver are effectively transferred to the wheels and vital road information is transmitted properly from the wheels to the driver.

Sway bars transmit cornering forces from the outside wheels to the inside wheels, helping to keep the vehicle flat during cornering. This, in turn, reduces body roll and improves the driver's cornering confidence. OEM rubber sway bar bushings are designed with comfort in mind, allowing the sway bar to articulate while permitting additional movement, leading to less-than-ideal bar retention and causes unnecessary body roll.
