Starting off from a stop with the valves open there is a significant increase in volume over the valves closed. As you approach 4,000 rpms and higher you now have started to open up the can of worms, you can feel the free-flowing path of the exhaust with limited to no resistance, far superior to the factory exhaust. Anything after 6500 rpms is an absolute statement of exhaust. Over 6500 rpm is a sonorous note that lives rent free in the enthusiasts mind that can make a believer out of anyone who doubted the capable E46 M3.
