This kit from Valeo is a simple way to easily convert your stock dual mass flywheel clutch system to a single mass system.
Dual mass flywheels allow for fluid-feeling clutch engagements and offer a more luxurious feel than single-mass flywheels. However, with these benefits come significant drawbacks. Why convert from a dual-mass flywheel to a single-mass flywheel?
Cost: Dual-mass flywheels are expensive, with the cost of replacement often times being double or triple than that of converting to a single-mass flywheel.
Serviceability: Single-mass flywheels can be resurfaced, eliminating the need to replace with the next clutch service. - something that is not recommended with dual-mass flywheels, as they contain a rubber section that is more failure-prone in high mileage application.
Simplicity: Single-mass flywheels lack the complexity of dual-mass flywheels, making them inherently more reliable. Dual-mass flywheels contain a rubber damper or hub that will, like all rubber components, wear out with time.
Pedal Feel: Many enthusiasts prefer to eliminate BMW's "Self Adjusting Clutch", which has been known to provide an unpredictable, inconsistent engagement point.

Stock mounts are made from soft rubber and are sometimes filled with fluid to give a car the most comfortable ride possible. The soft rubber and fluid helps to reduce the total amount of vibration, noise, and harshness (NVH) that is transferred into the cabin. The problem with this is driveline slop. The stock mounts allow a lot of excess movement and increases the amount of time it takes to transfer power to the wheels.
In order to address this issue, performance mounts can be substituted to reduce the amount of slop and transfer power to the wheel quicker. Two options for this are polyurethane mounts and solid mounts.
The middle ground is Polyurethane. Polyurethane is much stiffer than rubber, but these still let a large amount of movement in comparison to solid mounts. These are great for sporty, aggressive street driving, but for the track are not ideal.
For the track, solid mounts are great. Solid mounts give you an immediate transfer of power, at the cost of increase NVH. This is great for the track where comfort is the least of your worries and power is all that is important.

Automatic transmissions are reliable, shift smoothly, and can last without issue so long as they are properly maintained. Over time, the transmission fluid becomes thick and the filter becomes contaminated with small metal particles. This can cause excess wear, high transmission operating temperatures, and eventual failure. To prevent this we recommend changing your filter, fluid, and seals to ensure your transmission continues to operate flawlessly. We recommend filter and fluid changes every 50,000 miles. These mounts where developed by Turner Motorsport for their Grand-Am Cup E46 M3 race cars, the advantages of solid aluminum mounts is increased suspension & drivetrain response, less drivetrain loss resulting in more wheel horsepower, and longevity - they effectively last forever. These CNC-machined mounts are a direct replacement for the stock rubber pieces, and have been lightened to remove excess weight.

This is a 1-piece Chromoly conversion for the BMW E46 (6-Speed Manual Transmission ONLY, will not fit SMG).
The shaft is 3" x .083" DOM tube with billet aluminum plates to convert the small bolt pattern on the factory transmission to use larger 1310 U-Joint and a 108mm CV to mount to the differential, which will eliminate any possible pinion angle issues. This shaft weighs 25 pounds and since there is no hanger bearing, it will make the car seem more athletic and give it a smoother power transfer.
Unlike other aftermarket shafts for BMW's this shaft features a slider system that will let the shaft move in and out during racing and chassis flex. This shaft is now being balanced on a new 9500RPM balancer to ensure a perfectly balanced shaft. Comes complete with precision machined front and rear conversion plates and all necessary hardware for installation.
