BMW ABS/DSC System Parts for BMW E92 M3 S65 4.0L

On modern cars the ABS system is also tied in with other features and systems. ABS sensors are used for speedometer readings, traction control, stability control, and other components. So when a sensor fails it's not just affecting your braking but cascading through the rest of the car as well. Typically there will be an ABS light on in the dash cluster but the SES/CEL light may also come on which will require a trip to the dealer to have the fault analyzed.

Your ABS sensors are the main tool that your ABS system uses when sending signals to the computer. If one of the sensors fail, a warning light will appear on your display alerting you of the situation and the system will no longer operate as normal. ABS (Antilock Brake System) wheel speed sensors tell the ABS controller when wheels lose traction and lock up during braking. Individual sensors at each wheel are sometimes damaged by road hazards, and may also fail electrically from heat and vibration. A failed sensor turns on the ABS warning light and disables ABS operation until the fault is repaired. Replace your failed wheel sensors and restore ABS function.
