Includes everything needed for a rod bearing service, featuring BE Bearings upgraded rod bearings. The S65 engine has a known history of rod bearing failure, and if your engine is higher mileage, don't let this catastrophic failure happen to you. Replace your rod bearings and prevent a spun bearing which can trash your crankshaft. BE Bearings, in conjunction with Clevite, an OE bearing manufacturer, have redesigned and manufactured the bearings for greater clearance and have changed the original material composition from tin-aluminum to lead-copper. This upgrade incorporated the state-of-the-art Clevite Tri-Metal design and featured a Tri-Armor™ coating. This allows for the additional lubrication for wear prevention, plus, the softer bearings are better for your engine and are more tolerant of foreign particles suspended in your oil. Another benefit from this is that the oil can now be sent for testing to accurately gauge the amount of wear occurring in the engine. This comprehensive kit includes both belts, belt tensioners, upper and lower deflection pulleys, and the adjusting pulley. Select from all Genuine BMW parts or a combination of OEM/OE BMW parts. Staying on top of your belt maintenance is the smart move. Cracked or worn belts are a recipe for a headache or worse. The main drive belt runs critical components - the alternator, water pump, and power steering pump. The pulleys contain bearings that may be worn when it comes time to replace the belts. You can check the pulleys by relieving tension on the belt and feeling each pulley for play or grinding. The tensioner also sees similar wear. If your pulleys are new or don't need replacement, you can pick up the belts on their own.
