The standard Rear View Camera system from BMW is basic and does not take full advantage of the technology. Bimmertech addressed this issue with the introduction of the Rear View camera retro-fit for most BMW models. Their kit overrides the native iDrive display with a full screen camera image. Much like the factory BMW rear view camera, this retrofit will automatically be activated when the car is placed in reverse. It also provides dynamic parking lines which give you insight towards the direction of the vehicle based on the rotation of the the steering wheel. This can be really helpful when trying to squeeze into a tight parking space. The camera provides high quality resolution and is a very simple DIY project. The folks over at Bimmertech assemble and configure each kit upon order, to ensure fitment with your specific vehicle and the options and packages your vehicle possesses. They provide a great DIY video that will give you confidence when approaching the project.
