For BMW E46 and Z4 E85 & E86 owners looking to enhance the performance and handling of their vehicles, the Powerflex Black Series Front Control Arm - Rear Bushings with Brackets offer a valuable suspension upgrade. In this article, we'll explore the numerous advantages of integrating these high-quality bushings into your BMW, designed to optimize control and road-handling capabilities, ultimately taking your driving experience to the next level. Improved Handling and Stability: The BMW E46 and Z4 E85 & E86 models are already known for their impressive handling, and the Powerflex Front Control Arm - Rear Bushings with Brackets are engineered to enhance this feature. These bushings reduce sway and body roll during cornering, ensuring your vehicle remains stable and responsive, even when navigating tight turns and corners. This results in a more confident and enjoyable driving experience. Enhanced Cornering Performance: One of the primary benefits of these control arm bushings is their ability to optimize your vehicle's cornering performance. The Powerflex design provides increased rigidity, allowing for more precise and controlled cornering. Whether you're tackling winding mountain roads or maneuvering on a racetrack, you'll appreciate the improved grip and control these bushings provide. Mitigation of Understeer: Understeer, a common issue in many vehicles, occurs when the front tires lose grip during a turn. Upgrading to Powerflex Front Control Arm - Rear Bushings with Brackets helps address this issue by redistributing the load more evenly between the front and rear tires. This results in better balance and control, ensuring your BMW responds precisely to your commands in any situation. Durability and Longevity: These control arm bushings are constructed using high-quality materials, ensuring durability and a longer service life. They are engineered to withstand the rigors of daily driving and spirited performance, reducing wear and tear on your suspension components and extending the lifespan of your BMW's control arm system and related parts. Control arm bushings play a key role in connecting the wheels to the chassis of the vehicle. Tasked with keeping suspension geometry in check while absorbing noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) factory rubber bushings were engineered to provide a balance of comfort and control. As a factory bushing ages, it becomes brittle and begins to harden. When this happens the bushing will actually shrink and allow excess play in the suspension joint. This is typically felt by a sudden jerk forward after the car comes to a stop and is a leading cause of "sloppy" or "loose" suspension feel. By replacing the bushing with a full polyurethane unit or using a bushing insert, this play is eliminated since the suspension joint is being supported by a much stiffer material that will not harden or shrink over time. Additionally, the inherent stiffness of the urethane material translates body forces much more directly. This means steering inputs from the driver are effectively transferred to the wheels and vital road information is transmitted properly from the wheels to the driver.

Engineered to perform, Powerflex performance polyurethane control arm bushings offer a supreme level of control, while still providing enough comfort for the street, with advanced polyurethane that reduces NVH that often accompanies lesser bushings. Expect improved steering feel, turn in, more responsive handling and overall improved chassis composure with Powerflex performance polyurethane control arm bushings.

Poweflex is a leading manufacturer of aftermarket suspension bushings. Using state of the art design and manufacturing, all replacement bushings are engineered to out-perform and out-last the ones that came in the car. Each line of bushings is meticulously tested and then re-tested to ensure perfect fitment and enduring quality through the life of the vehicle. A full lifetime warranty backs every one of their products and demonstrates the level of confidence and commitment Powerflex has to their customers.

Here at Turner we understand the importance of an upgrade that will get the results you need on the track and still be tolerable on the drive around town. When it comes to control arms on the track, making them as stiff as you can (usually using solid mounts) is the best way to increase your driving precision by eliminating the deflection of rubber. The next best thing to create a balance would be to stiffen up the control arm with polyurethane, giving you the option of a more stock like feel with 80a or closer to the solid feel with 95a durometers. These poly bushings will give your control arms a direct connection between your suspension and the body of the car eliminating the slop felt under take-off and braking so you feel more in control of your vehicle.

Want the best performance option in shock tower mounts? IRP has created their pillow-ball rear shock mounts for just this need. These rear shock mounts are designed for use on the track and racing. This set of mounts will help your rear shocks perform the best they can in all conditions. The advantage to using a mount with spherical bearing is that it allows the shock to freely move off axis without side loading the shock shaft like rubber or polyurethane mounts do. Side loading a shock increases stiction and wear which decreases its efficiency. Because these are mounts without an isolator (rubber or polyurethane) to dampen road noise and vibrations we do not recommend them for street cars.

The bearing sleeve and poly bushing are built to work with all stock style shocks such as Bilstein and H&R coilover and suspension kits.

The performance of the front suspension depends almost entirely on this one bushing. The BMW front control arm mounts to the chassis with this bushing at the back. If the original rubber has worn it will have a major impact on the alignment, steering, and braking. This is why race teams like ours ditch the factory rubber and put something more solid in its place. The car will be more responsive due to less deflection and the bushing will last longer (virtually no wear). These Delrin bushings use an aluminum sleeve and are nearly solid to conform to many racing series rules, including SpecE46 and the Grand Am Cup series that we won back-to-back championships in.

These bushings require the 60mm bushing brackets (housings) from the E46 M3 or very early E46 models.

Made in the USA For our Grand-Am Cup E46 M3s we wanted a fully solid differential mount setup. The advantages of a fully-solid aluminum set is that they last forever, quickens response in the suspension, and frees up horsepower to the wheels. These fully solid aluminum diff mounts are CNC machined and lightened for a direct replacement of the original rubber pieces.

By substituting aluminum for rubber we can take out all of the deflection and 'wind up' inherent to the original rubber pieces. The high deflection rate of the stock rubber means the suspension reacts slower as the bushing is compressed. The power used to compress that bushing is instead passed straight to the axles and wheels. And since there is no time lost to deflection, response is greatly improved. These diff mounts are only recommended for racecars since the aluminum transfers more noise and vibration.

This is a 3-piece set with a single front bushing and two rear bushings to press into the cover. They mount with the stock BMW hardware.

Tasked with keeping the vehicles rear end firmly mounted while absorbing noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) factory rubber subframe bushings were engineered to provide a balance of control while keeping the ride quality soft and supple. As a factory bushings age, they become brittle and begin to harden. When this happens the bushing will actually shrink and allow excess play, or movement in the subframe. This is typically felt by a sudden jerk or "thunking" noise under acceleration and is a leading cause of "sloppy" or "loose" suspension feel. By replacing the bushings with full polyurethane this play is eliminated since the subframe is being held in place by a much stiffer material that will not harden or shrink over time. Worn rubber differential mounts will lead to the differential twisting and shifting around in the rear subframe. Not only will this be noisy but it's bad for driver confidence and bad for the chassis as well. Even on fresh rubber bushings the differential has deflection and twist, especially if the car has been modified for more torque. Since the differential is centrally mounted in the rear subframe, with all suspension mounts interconnected, a differential with too much deflection will affect handling and could even damage the rear subframe.

These 88A urethane E46 M3 diff mounts are much stiffer than stock but still not as solid as our Turner aluminum/Delrin bushings. This set will resist twisting much better than the stock rubber mounts. Included is the front diff mount and two rear mounts in the cover.

Differential bushings are responsible for keeping the differential in solid alignment while dampening drivetrain vibration. While OE rubber bushings are fine when they are new from the factory, aged and worn out rubber bushings create a multitude of issues that can range from annoying to dangerous. As a factory bushing ages, it begins to harden and become brittle. When this happens the bushing will actually shrink and allow for movement at the differential mounting point. At this point, the differential is free to shift under load causing a noticeable clunking noise under acceleration and deceleration and massively increasing the stress on the driveshaft and axles. Manual transmissions suffer the worst from this as it can make shifting difficult since the differential will shift when the clutch is engaged and disengaged.

By replacing these bushings with full polyurethane, the movement is eliminated since the mounting point is supported by a much stiffer material that will not harden or shrink over time. This means less stress on the driveshaft and axles and greater longevity of supporting components.

Powerflex Black Series bushings are the ultimate in track and race bushings. Featuring 95A durometer polyurethane, Black Series bushings are 25% stiffer than street bushings. Engineered to perform, Powerflex performance polyurethane control arm bushings offer a supreme level of control, while still providing enough comfort for the street, with advanced polyurethane that reduces NVH that often accompanies lesser bushings. Expect improved acceleration response, more direct shifting feel and overall improved drivetrain composure with Powerflex performance polyurethane bushings.

Additionally, the inherent stiffness of the urethane material translates body forces much more directly. This means steering and acceleration inputs from the driver are effectively transferred to the wheels and vital road information is transmitted properly from the wheels to the driver.

Engineered to perform, Powerflex performance polyurethane bushings offer a supreme level of control, while still providing enough comfort for the street, with advanced polyurethane that reduces NVH that often accompanies lesser bushings.

The Powerflex BMW E30 / E36 / E46 / Z3 / Z4 Rear Shock Mount – 10 mm is an advanced suspension upgrade designed to improve the rear shock performance in a wide range of BMW models. By replacing the factory rubber mounts with polyurethane, this mount ensures a more durable and performance-oriented suspension setup.

Key Features:

  • Multi-Model Compatibility: Specifically designed for BMW E30, E36, E46, Z3, and Z4 models, this 10 mm rear shock mount is a perfect fit for vehicles with rear shocks that feature a 10 mm rod diameter. It offers seamless integration and performance enhancement across these BMW platforms.
  • Polyurethane Construction for Enhanced Durability: Unlike OEM rubber mounts, which are prone to wear and degradation over time, these mounts are crafted from tough polyurethane. This material provides greater resistance to wear, oil, road contaminants, and high temperatures, ensuring a longer-lasting component that maintains its structural integrity.
  • Superior Handling and Control: The stiffer polyurethane reduces the flex and movement that can occur with rubber mounts, providing more direct shock performance. This results in better handling, improved suspension response, and increased stability, particularly during aggressive driving or when cornering.
  • Comfortable Ride Quality: Despite its firmer characteristics, the polyurethane shock mount is designed to absorb road vibrations and noise, ensuring that while your handling improves, you don’t sacrifice the comfort BMWs are known for. It balances performance and comfort, making it suitable for both daily driving and spirited driving.
  • Quick and Easy Installation: Designed as a direct replacement for the stock rear shock mounts, this bushing allows for a straightforward installation process. No additional modifications are required, making it a simple yet effective upgrade for your BMW’s suspension.

This Rear Shock Mount – 10 mm is an ideal upgrade for BMW E30, E36, E46, Z3, and Z4 owners who want to improve their vehicle’s handling performance and suspension durability. The combination of enhanced strength and control with ride comfort makes it an excellent choice for both everyday use and more performance-driven situations, offering a long-lasting solution to rear shock mounting issues.

These 88A urethane E46 diff mounts are much stiffer than stock but still not as solid as our Turner aluminum/Delrin bushings. This set will resist twisting much better than the stock rubber mounts. Included are the two front diff mounts and the rear mount in the cover.

*Featuring a delrin sleeve to eliminate heat deformation and premature failure.

These bushings replace the stock rubber bushings and offer a better driving feel, increased lifespan, and better wheel alignment.

Rubber bushing allow for a lot more movement and are more susceptible to wear and tear from spirited driving and harsh weather conditions. Polyurethane is much more resistant to wear and is stiffer, reducing the total amount of movement that would normally affect the alignment negatively.

This is a replacement LEFT/DRIVER front inner ball joint, as found on all 2001 to 2005 BMW E46 325xi and 330xi. These are a common failure item, and we recommend replacing these in pairs (be sure to buy a right side as well). These should also be replaced when installing new control arms.

Ball joints begin to pop and rattle after a long period of wear and tear. An OEM Lemforder ball joint is the perfect replacement to ensure complete reliability eliminate any noises from the suspension.

OEM Lemforder front control arm bushings as used on the E46 325i, 330i, and Z4 and an upgrade for the E46 323i and 328i. These are the upgraded 66mm bushings used to eliminate vibrations in the early E46 front suspension. The front control arm bushings are a key piece of the suspension. They are constantly in motion and take abuse from impacts, potholes, rough roads, and general cornering/wheel motions. To give a quiet and smooth ride, the bushings are made of compliant rubber. But the rubber can only withstand so much abuse before they become loose and spongy. This results in vibrations and possibly a shimmy when driving. A visual inspection will usually confirm that there is too much flex in the rubber or the rubber has cracked and torn. And if you're installing new control arms, always install new bushings to avoid duplicating labor costs.

These bushings come pre-pressed into their aluminum brackets. No need to press out old and press in new bushings! Just a simple swap! Price is for the pair.

Looking to stiffen up your rear shock mount without going for a solid rear mount? The Polyurethane Rear Performance Strut Mount from IRP will give you the stiffer reinforcement without giving you the typical noise, vibration, and harshness that come with traditional performance strut mounts. The polyurethane also helps with preventing rear shock blowouts, a common problem for stock BMW rear mounts that are paired with stiffer than stock suspension.

The bearing sleeve and poly bushing are built to work with all stock style shocks such as Bilstein and H&R coilover and suspension kits.

Fits the following BMW chassis:
E36 BMW All Submodels except for 318ti
E46 BMW All Submodels
E30 BMW All Submodels
E36 Z3 BMW All Submodels
E85/E86 Z4 BMW All Submodels
