ECS Tuning engineered 2-Piece semi-floating rotors offer real-world benefits that can be felt on both the street and track! 2-Piece rotors combine the advantages of weight savings and rapid heat dissipation to provide a rotor superior to stock while preventing warping and extending component life. The reduction of unsprung weight improves handling characteristics under all situations. This reduction in rotational inertia allows for quicker acceleration, decreased braking distances, and more responsive handling.

Features include:

Aluminum hats: To save weight, each rotor ring is bolted to a lightweight aluminum hat made from high-quality 6061 aluminum, and hard anodized with an attractive matte black finish that is both durable and corrosion-resistant. Gray cast iron rings: Long known for its wear resistance and stable friction characteristics, cast iron is favored for brake rotors due to its ability to absorb and dissipate large amounts of heat. 2-Piece construction: Conventional rotors are unable to cope with the stress of drastic heat fluctuations and are prone to warping. ECS 2-Piece semi-floating rotors allow the radial expansion of the rotor ring - preventing warping. Heat treated: Heat treating of ECS 2-Piece rotors makes them stiffer and stronger - for improved performance and further prevention of warping. Drilled and slotted: 2-Piece rotors are cross drilled to promote cross ventilation for improved cooling as well as slotted to clean brake pads and carry away water and brake dust. Cleaner brake pads result in faster, more consistent stopping. Drilled holes are chamfered while slots are machined with a ball end mill - both to prevent cracking that may be present on improperly machined rotors. Overall weight savings: This particular ECS 2-Piece rotor weighs only 20.95lbs compared to a stock rotor (24.45lbs). Lighter rotors reduce unsprung weight and rotational mass to improve both braking and suspension performance. Manufacturing quality: Non-friction ring surfaces, including internal vents, are painted to resist salt and other corrosives. Ground braking surfaces ensure rings run parallel, and pads bed easily. Kit includes the following parts:

Front ECS 2-piece semi-floating cross-drilled and slotted Front ECS EP24 "Enthusiast Performance" Brake Pads Pad wear sensor ECS stainless steel rotor set screws These rotors are compatible with vehicles using the M sport brake system which is also found standard for certain applications.

This is a pair (2) of Genuine BMW FRONT brake rotors/discs (370x30mm) for all F30, F31 F32 F33 and F34 models with either the BMW M Performance brakes or 335/435 with the optional M Sport brakes upgrade. These rotors are dimpled and slotted to improve brake pad feel and give the brakes a sportier and more aggressive look. In addition, they are larger that the standard brake rotors to help in braking performance. These are not a direct replacement for the stock brakes and will only work with the M Performance or optional M Sport brake upgrade.

The M Performance brakes were a dealer-installed accessory that could have been ordered new or installed after the car was delivered. M Performance brakes were larger than stock and had a colored brake caliper (red, yellow, or orange). The M Sport 335/435 optional brakes (option code S2NH or S2NHA) were available as an additional option on top of the M Sport trim package but could also be ordered on their own. They featured the same size brakes as the M Performance accessory but with either blue or unfinished grey calipers. Note that only the 335 and 435 M Sport upgrade used 370mm rotors; the 328i/428i M Sport option used a 340mm rotor.
