Replacement RIGHT FRONT sway bar / swaybar link for the 2001-2005 325xi & 330xi (E46 chassis). These are common failure items, and we highly suggest replacing them in pairs.

Sway bar end links connect the swaybar to the rest of the suspension, preventing body roll and keeping everything in line in tight turns. This exposes these links to a high amount of stress and pressure, often leading to split bushings and sloppy body control and knocking noises. OEM Lemförder sway bar links are the perfect option to restore body control and eliminate knocking noises.

The ECS Tuning Billet Front Sway Bar Mounting Kit will provide your vehicle with a more rigid mounting solution from the sway bar to chassis than the OEM steel brackets. With an improved sway bar mounting bracket and the included polyurethane sway bar bushings you can expect to achieve an increase in rear sway bar effectiveness and less body roll as a result.

PART DESIGN

The front sway bar mounting brackets are made from a solid piece of 6061-T6 billet aluminum that are precision CNC-machined to bolt into the OEM mounting location while utilizing greaseable, polyurethane bushings. They are Type II black anodized for corrosion protection and include zinc flake coated Class 12.9 alloy steel bolts for premium performance.

The red polyurethane bushings feature a greaseable channel for extended service life and quieter operation than standard polyurethane bushings.

INSTALLATION AND SUPPORT

Installation is simple. Simply unbolt your front sway bar mounting brackets and slip over our poly bushings and billet mounting brackets with the included hardware. That's it! Enjoy better handling and a crisp front suspension.

SPECIAL NOTE: You can use any conventional automotive bearing grease for service.

There's finally an option to buy housings separate from the bushings, this way you don't have to live with the stress placed on the stock housings when pressing the old bushing out. The biggest benefit come in when there isn't already a pre-pressed in option for poly and spherical upgrades, this leaves the only option of pressing the old bushings out. Through out in-house testing when designing our poly and spherical upgrades we noticed that pressing the bushing out caused stress in some cases creating hairline cracks in the housing leaving it vulnerable to failure.

The E46 3-series can really benefit from a slightly firmer suspension. The stock shock and spring package is a bit too soft and mushy with a lot of bodyroll. Even the factory sport suspension was a marginal improvement. If you have been left wanting more from your stock suspension, this is the perfect upgrade. In this E46 shock and spring package we paired H&R Sport springs with a set of Bilstein sport shocks and struts to deliver a package with near-stock levels of comfort but with stiffer springs that improve handling and lower the ride height for better aesthetics.

H&R Sport springs lower the ride height by up to 1.4" in front and .75" in the back and stiffens the spring rate. Both combine to lower the car's center of gravity and reduce the amount of bodyroll in corners. The springs are progressive rate so their initial stiffness is actually very compliant and it becomes stiffer as the spring is compressed. This is great for street cars that see bumps and potholes where suspension compliance is key. Overall, they are about 30% stiffer than the stock original springs.

We use Bilstein Sport shocks as the dampers and they feature Bilstein's patented and innovative valving system. With this system, small bumps and impacts are absorbed as they should be. But the shocks stiffen for cornering and other suspension motions. It's the best of both worlds as the shock self-adjusts based on suspension motion. These fit with the stock strut and shock mounts, making for an easy and clean install.

Tasked with keeping the vehicles rear end firmly mounted while absorbing noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) factory rubber subframe bushings were engineered to provide a balance of control while keeping the ride quality soft and supple. As a factory bushings age, they become brittle and begin to harden. When this happens the bushing will actually shrink and allow excess play, or movement in the subframe. This is typically felt by a sudden jerk or "thunking" noise under acceleration and is a leading cause of "sloppy" or "loose" suspension feel. By replacing the bushings with full polyurethane this play is eliminated since the subframe is being held in place by a much stiffer material that will not harden or shrink over time. Additionally, the inherent stiffness of the urethane material translates body forces much more directly.
