If you have owned your BMW for any length of time, you are most likely aware of BMW's less-than-stellar reputation for developing weak plastic hoses and other parts. A great example of this are the N54 turbo inlet pipes. Over time, constant temperature swings cause these plastic pipes/hoses to become brittle. This often leads to cracks, splits, or even complete failure, allowing your turbos to suck in unfiltered air. To prevent this from happening to you, we are proud to present our very own Turner Motorsport N54 Silicone Turbo Inlet Hoses! Silicone inlet hoses are extremely reliable, resisting heat and pressure significantly better than plastic. This is perfect people who are just looking for a simple, reliable upgrade, or people who want to push the limits of their BMW and are looking to make more boost and more power without worrying about failing inlets. Available in two sizes, our kits can support either stock (44mm) or upgraded (50mm) turbos and include adapters to reconnect your turbo bypass pipes. If you plan to upgrade your charge pipes, replace the stock diverter valves with aftermarket atmospheric blow-off-valves, or want to convert your BMW to a catch can system, we also recommend the optionally available Turner Motorsport N54 Inlet Hose Plug Kit. This kit blocks off the turbo bypass pipe connections and PCV connections that will no longer be needed.

When adding boost to the N54 engine, it's important to consider effects throughout the rest of the system. Additional boost can overwhelm the stock BMW diverter valve system and lead to boost leakage, or boost spikes, and lost horsepower. With the factory components in place it's hard to maintain consistently high boost levels. Instead of the weak plastic components of the stock system, Active Autowerke uses a CNC-machined and mandrel-bent aluminum tube with a Venturi blow-off valve in place of the original diverter valves. The blow-off valve dumps overboost into the atmosphere for that distinctive turbo 'whoosh' sound. The single AA BOV is over-sized for the N54 application - taking the place of the two small diverter valves, and verified to handle over 600hp. With the BOV acting properly your turbos and other components are protected from compressor surge caused by excess pressure build-up.

We like the Active BOV better than other forms of diverter and BOV kits because it's tried and true - AA was the original turbo BMW tuners and their experience is second to none. That's why they took the time to engineer their kit to fit perfectly, using the OE-type connector to the throttle body, and high-strength silicone to the lower intercooler tube. Each connection is a tight, leak-free seal. The kit comes complete with the discharge tube, vacuum plugs for the stock hoses, and instructions. The tube is powdercoated in black and with a wrinkle finish for an OE appearance.

This item fits the following BMWs with N54 engine:
2008-2010 E82 BMW 135i 1M
2007-2010 E90 BMW 335i 335xi 335i xDrive

One major weak point in the N55 turbo plumbing is the stock upper chargepipe from the intercooler outlet to the intake manifold. The original N55 charge pipe is made from a weak plastic and can fail with even stock boost levels. The most common problem is a crack that develops along a seam where the pipe connects to the throttle body. Any crack here is bad as it creates a massive vacuum leak and the engine electronics will put the car into limp mode. If you don't want to be sidelined there is a very simple fix - the Active Autowerke N55 charge pipe.

This aluminum pipe is much stronger and more durable and nearly indestructable for the N55 application. It uses a CNC-machined factory-style connection and o-ring to the throttle body to ensure a tight and leak-free seal. The piping is a consistent 3" diameter for better flow and an improved throttle response. AA has included a raised boss with two ports should you choose to add a water/meth injection system later. The factory MAP sensor installs in the same location and the pipe is powdercoated black for a factory-type appearance.

With a stronger pipe you don't have to worry about the infamous chargepipe crack and lost boost levels and horsepower. All of the boost in the world is useless if it's leaking so using beefed up components in place of the weak factory pieces is the smart way to consistently high power output.

This item fits the following BMWs with the N55 engine:
2011-2012 E82 BMW 135i
2011 E90 BMW 335i 335xi 335i xDrive - Sedan

Often overlooked but never counted out are charged airflow characteristics. The way air enters the engine dictates how well the engine breathes and has a direct effect on throttle response, turbo lag, and maximum power. Smooth bends and minimal restriction are ideal; however, increasing boost levels necessitates the use of superior materials that can hold up to the pressure. The FTP BMW N55 Charge Pipe both increases flow and improves the reliability of your twin turbo BMW. The 3" mandrel bent aluminum pipe replaces the brittle factory plastic pipe which can fail under increased boost pressure. The increased piping size helps to reduce turbulence and maximize flow into the engine. Increased Flow Direct OEM Replacement 3in Mandrel-Bent Aluminum Construction 4-Play Silicon Couplers

Increase throttle response and decreases turbo lag with the VRSF charge pipe for your 135i/335i/335is. VRSF's aluminum charge pipe features a CNC billet aluminum OEM throttle body flange and is finished in powder-coated black. The VRSF charge pipe retains the OEM c-clip in order to provide a better seal over a conventional clamp/coupler design. This charge pipe is offered with the Tial BOV flange only. Two plugged water injection bungs are included for those who are currently using water injection or interested in using water injection in the future. This charge pipe will only fit cars with relocated inlets and was designed to fit around the 335d coolant tank. VRSF's charge pipes include 2 plugged water injection bungs, caps to cover your intake recirculation ports, and the couplers and clamps necessary for installation.

VTT is proud to offer the very best Cold Side charge pipe solution for the BMW E Series N54 platform. This system completely does away with the restrictive, and muli-connection stock charge pipe system, and replaces it with a single 6-ply, Heat Resistant, Wire reinforced silicone charge pipe rated at over 200 psi. They are molded for the perfect fit in your engine bay, while not sacrificing anything in the way of flow or size. They also completely isolate your charge air from any additional heat soak coming in from the engine or ambient heat. Another huge benefit is only TWO connections which are barbed and has many small ridges which dig into the silicone so it’s impossible for the pipe to blow off.

This N54 pipe has a flange installed to support a Turbosmart BOV.

This is the EASIEST N54 charge pipe on the market to install hands down. Install takes about half an hour even if you are inexperienced with working on your own car, can take as little as 15-20 minutes if you have had it apart a few times.

The kit includes:

VTT Cold Side Silicone Charge pipe

2 VTT Branded CNC adapters to mount the map sensor, and a methanol bung

1 VTT Branded CNC adapters for the TB inlet

2 VTT branded T-Bolt Clamps

1 1/8 NPT port is included in the charge pipe for methanol
