Even after rebuilding your manual transmission shifter with brand new BMW components or installing a short shift kit, your shifts will still be at the mercy of soft factory bushings. Designed with 100% comfort and low manufacturing costs in mind, BMW's factory carrier bushing offers a freedom of movement on all axis, resulting in "factory installed slop". Any manual transmission aficionado knows that when it comes to shifting, slop is the enemy. Causing inconsistent gear locations, embarrassing missed shifts, and an overall experience that is less than confidence inspiring. After servicing countless shifters, our team decided to step in and address this shortcoming. 

Our engineers designed a bushing that was simple to install, requiring no modifications or reuse of old components, and delivers an improved shifting experience with any factory or aftermarket performance shifter. Our carrier bushing is manufactured in the USA from 70A polyurethane, bonded securely to a 304 stainless steel housing for exceptional corrosion resistance.  The result is a complete design solution that offers much crisper shifting and a more engaging driving experience with nearly zero added gearbox noise or vibrations. 

As part of a shifter upgrade, rebuild, or as a standalone component upgrade, our bushing assembly delivers immediate, long-lasting shifting improvements.

This brass clutch pivot pin is an upgrade over the stock plastic pivot pin. The brass pin will last a lot longer than the plastic piece and may save you time and hassle later on. The original plastic pivot pin is known to fall out, snap, or just wear out over time. At the least you get a very annoying squeak every time you depress the clutch. In a worse case scenario, the clutch fork won't be able to push on the throw-out bearing and your clutch will be useless. The only time to replace the clutch pivot pin is when the transmission is removed, so this brass upgrade can be installed during clutch replacements or a rear main seal service.

The stock manual transmission mounts are a weak point in any BMW. They are a soft rubber, mainly designed to absorb vibration. But over time the rubber becomes more and more pliable and that causes the transmission to move excessively and the shifter linkage to bind, leading to tougher and inconsistent shifting. A mis-shift can lead to a very expensive engine rebuild.

The UUC tranny mounts are much stiffer than the originals and can be used with an aluminum cup to deflect load over a greater area. This will keep the transmission and shift linkage where they're supposed to be and virtually eliminate a mis-shift caused by the linkage binding. UUC's mounts are a heavy-duty rubber or urethane. Black rubber mounts are for street applications; Red/blue urethane is for track/light street use. Since both styles are a stiffer durometer than the stock rubber, some additional vibration and noise will make it into the cabin. With the Black mounts, the vibration is really not much more than stock. There will be a noticeable amount more with the Red/blue mounts. The Enforcer cups are ideal for track driven cars as they contribute to additional noise & vibration. Note that worn transmission mounts may also be masking vibrations from worn engine mounts too, and it's a good idea to replace your motor mounts at regular intervals or the same time as installing new transmission mounts. The optional aluminum Trans Mount Enforcers fit over the top of the mounts and give additional strength to the whole design (recommended for track cars, not generally needed or recommended on street cars.)

It's no wonder that these mounts have found their way into the top BMW racers in the country. These are machined from solid aluminum and have zero deflection, engine torque will cause a rubber or urethane mount to flex or deflect allowing more torque to passed through the drive line (instead of being wasted winding up the mount). This puts the shift linkages in better consistent alignment. And unlike rubber or urethane the aluminum has zero wear and is not affected by leaking oil or other fluids so this is likely the last set of transmission mounts you will ever need. We very strongly recommend using the solid transmission and engine mounts together as a complete kit, mixing a rubber mount with a metal mount will cause undue stress on the mounting points and will lead to a failure. We never advise using a solid mount unless a corresponding solid mount is also used.

These are a no-compromise design for all-out racing use, full solid aluminum mounts should not be used on street-driven cars since there is no material to absorb vibration making these quite harsh for regular street use (track cars don't care about noise).

Things only go downhill from here, as these cars increase in age and mileage shifts feel less and less precise. Here at Turner, we CAD design everything in house and source the best materials to give you a truly amazing product and enhance the driving experience in your ultimate driving machine. After extensive testing and development, we are proud to present you with our Turner Motorsport short shifter. We wanted to develop something that could fit any BMW owner’s preferences - our engineering team decided this could be designed a height and throw adjustable short shifter that also features a “Quick Change” rally lever extension that allows you to easily swap back and forth between OE height shifter and the longer, rally lever you see in the product photos. Why the rally lever extension? Having the added height allows you to keep both hands closer to the wheel through shifts - this is especially helpful on the track, but we like it in our daily drivers too.

This is the Ultimate Clutch Pedal. Experience faster shifts and a more robust feel in the pedal with this precision engineered clutch arm. The Ultimate Clutch Pedal replaces the stock plastic arm with one made from billet and 6061 aluminum tube. Instead of mounting with a stock nylon bushing that wears over time and allows excessive play, the UCP uses self-lubricating and maintenance-free bronze bushings. Combined with a much stronger, CNC-machined base nearly all slop and deflection has been eliminated from the clutch action. This is an upgrade that you will appreciate on every shift! Especially on vehicles with higher mileage where the stock clutch arm bushings have worn. Even when new the rubber mounted arm lacks a high quality and precise feel. This changes everything! This pedal upgrade was designed and developed over the course of a year by racers and driving instructors alike. All had praise for the improvements the UCP makes in feel, shift speed, and rigidity.

The Ultimate Clutch Pedal is a short throw design and sits 15mm lower than the original pedal position. There's less 'leg lift' to put your foot at the top of the pedal. This eliminates wasted motion and saves time during every shift. An adjustable clutch stop is included to fine tune the travel and release characteristics. This pedal also has an adjustable tension feature. The amount of tension on the spring is adjustable to one of three positions.

The pedal has been designed to accept the stock rubber pedal pad or any suitable aluminum pedal pad (BMW, Turner, etc). This, along with the black anodized finish, helps to maintain a stealthy, stock-like appearance. It installs in place of the factory clutch arm and is completely reversible (no alterations or modifications required). Access to the pedal assembly on the interior firewall is required and a T20 Torx tool is included to aid in installation. Overall install time should be less than an hour. Instructions are included.

Rubber engine and transmission mounts for a street car and solid aluminum for the track, right? Well, it's not that straightforward anymore.

Stock rubber fluid-filled mounts are designed to be soft and comfortable, limiting the NVH (noise, vibration, and harshness) felt by the driver. The drawback inherent with a conventional design is driveline deflection, making it more difficult to put the power to the wheels, as well as making a money-shift or miss-shift more likely as they age. Solid mounts are exactly the opposite of this - they permit tons of NVH while offering zero deflection, making these a must have for track-driven vehicles looking to capitalize on every ounce of performance available. Enthusiasts looking to find the best of both worlds often look to polyurethane engine mounts - and many are disappointed with other designs on the market. Seeking a mount that offers a positive connection yet doesn't deform, fail, or rattle the fillings out of their mouths is frequently a lost cause.

Until now. 

We engineered these mounts with these very concerns in mind. We know if a soft mount offers a sloppy connection it doesn't work on the track, and a solid mount isn't acceptable as a daily driver (for most!) and set out to engineer a mount that would meet the needs for both. At the core of our enclosed design is a partially-constrained, multi-piece polyurethane bushing with precisely-set preload. This architecture absorbs and disperses resonant engine frequencies as opposed to amplifying them (like some other designs do), which results in a positive-connection, enthusiast-feel mount with the vibration. Understanding that heat is a concern for the passenger side mount's close proximity to the exhaust, we utilize a PEEK thermal insulation plate to greatly reduce heat transfer to the polyurethane, making heat a non-issue for these mounts. 

We offer two durometers, with both densities offering similar "positive connection" feeling. 60A is slightly softer and offers more of a stock feel, while 80A delivers a little more engine "feel" while under acceleration.
