Designed under the idea of function over form, Macht Schnell has developed a proven intake system that compliments the already efficient M3 air box. By replacing the restrictive stock filter with a larger, more free-flowing performance filter the engine is able to breathe air easier. Also replaced is the stock, accordion-style intake elbow that connects the airbox to the intake manifold. The Macht Schnell replacement Intake Charge Pipe (ICP) has very smooth and glossy interior walls and is 18% larger by volume, eliminating the turbulence and resistance that the stock elbow produces. The elbow is constructed from a super-strong polyethylene and has a textured exterior that perfectly matches the texture of the OEM intake manifold for a stock look. Included are Macht Schnell's own Intake Charge Scoops, making a matched combo that provides maximum air delivery for your S65 engine with noticeable power gains. Heavy-duty rubber intake couplers and European worm style clamps are included to maintain a tight seal while allowing engine movement. A 6061-T6 anodized aluminum inlet is embedded into the Macht Schnell Intake Charge Pipe to retain the stock PCV system. The Mishimoto N52 silicone intake boot is constructed of five layers of silicone with steel reinforcement rings for maximum durability. The steel reinforcement rings keep this hose from collapsing when under load, keeping your engine supplied with adequate airflow. The stock N52 intake boot has a resonator that BMW included to keep the N52 quiet. We tossed that resonator to the curb for a nice increase in engine and intake tone. This N52 intake boot fits with the stock airbox and single-stage or 3-stage intake manifolds. The silicone construction will provide you with long service life, and the Mishimoto Lifetime Warranty will make sure your intake boot is always leak free! WARNING! Prop 65 may apply to this product. With 22% more surface area than the factory IC the Mishimoto FMIC kit is more efficient. And that helps maintain your boost levels and performance! The factory intercooler is quickly overcome with heat and that leads to a loss of boost and performance. Factor in greater boost levels and other modifications and the more heat soak will put you out of the running. The solution is an intercooler with more capacity for cooling. 

The best feature of this kit is how easy it is to install. It's a direct bolt-on replacement for your stock intercooler - no removing the bumper or modifying brackets or wrestling with plumbing. Core size measures 20.5"x5.1"x5.3". The entire IC is aluminum, eliminating potential weak spots with plastic end tanks. The CAD and FEM process also allows them to design their cooler internals without any bottlenecks or restrictions. And it comes with Mishimoto's awesome lifetime warranty and accident forgiveness. Fits both N54 and N55 cars.
