With Radium Engineering's Regulated Fuel Hanger Surge Tank at its core, this kit allows you to tailor your fuel pump setup, select an in-line fuel filter, and opt for a wiring kit for multiple LPFP configurations in your N54 or N55-powered E9X 335i. In this setup, the BMW fuel pump serves as a "lift" pump, maintaining fuel volume in the Fuel Hanger Surge Tank via a dedicated orifice. This guarantees sufficient pressure for the venturi jet pump(s) to operate, ensuring consistent fuel delivery. Excess fuel in the FHST cycles back to the OEM tank through a one-way check valve ensuring a steady fuel supply. Unlike conventional surge tanks, which rely on pump flow matching, this FHST employs additional mechanisms to continuously deliver fuel regardless of fluctuations in other fuel sources. When the main tank nears depletion, the lift pump and Fuel Pressure Regulator step in to supply fuel to the FHST. Furthermore, with a boost reference signal (Hobbs Switch), the Fuel Pressure Regulator operates at a 1:1 ratio, allowing fuel pressure to rise proportionally with boost pressure. The low-pressure fuel returning from the Fuel Pressure Regulator is routed back into the surge tank to maintain its fullness. Inside the canister, a 6-hole diverter ensures even fuel dispersion without air bubbles or foaming. The stainless electrical studs included effectively handle high current demands, surpassing the capabilities of compact bulkhead connectors. These resilient connections are sealed against all standard and exotic fuels, with non-conductive acorn nuts provided to prevent accidental short circuits. The kit also includes the necessary electrical hardware for one Walbro fuel pump and the OEM level sender, while the in-tank wiring is insulated with premium chemically resistant ETFE for enhanced durability. If you are planning on running more than one LPFP, you will need to select the Hobbs Switch option for boost reference (to be installed on the manifold or charge pipe), as well as the fuel pump wiring kit! With the Fuel-It 650HP lineup, you can upgrade your components all at one time or upgrade them as time and budget allows. If upgrading one component at a time, we'd recommend starting with the LPFP first as that is the heart of your fuel system, without a good Low Pressure Fuel pump (LPFP) you can't supply the fuel needed to any of your other components. Your secondary pump can NOT run full time, it must only be run under boost only. Running it full time will place additional strain on the stock system, will lead to high fuel temps, and pump or component failure. To turn the secondary pump on under boost we recommend running the included 4psi Hobb's switch. Precision Raceworks' Stage 2 bucketed fuel pump kit includes a genuine Walbro 450 (F90000274) fuel pump, capable of supporting up to 575whp on 93 octane pump gas or 500whp on 100% E85! In order to prevent having to send in your fuel pump, each of Precision Raceworks' kits includes thorough instructions and all of the items required to assemble your kit at home. This prevents delays in shipping, potential damage to your stock fuel pump housing, and reduces assembly costs to keep prices low. It also improves installation as there is no guesswork on engagement and sealing of o-ring or complications and risks of tightening clamps that can poke holes in critical plastic components nearby. While all bucketless fuel pumps flow .2gpm more than a bucket design that retains the venturi, it comes at a cost. Bucketless pumps should not be driven on tanks lower than 1/4 full and should not be used for road course racing. This is not a disadvantage of only bucketless designs, but also a disadvantage for any bucket design which deletes the venturi. If you do not plan on road course or drag racing (not street racing) and are responsible at maintaining 1/4 tank of fuel during spirited driving, bucketless pumps can be a cheaper alternative for you.
