Set of 12 ProSeries ARP2000 connecting rod bolts for the Euro-spec M3 engine. Made by ARP, the world leader in fastener technology. The best rod bolts available for the Euro S50 and S54. Ideal for ultra high performance, racing & forced induction applications. Each bolt is made of ARP2000 material, which exceeds the strength of 8740 Chrome Moly, and is able to achieve clamp load at 220,000psi. ARP2000 fasteners are used widely in professional motorsport and drag racing as an upgrade from 8740 Chrome Moly in both steel and aluminum rods.

This set replaces the factory BMW Euro S50B30 and B32 rod bolts with part number 11-24-1-317-184 (11241317184) and 11-24-1-405-890 (11241405890). It's also used for S54 engines with stock M10 sized rod bolts, which were used from February 2003 production and later. It was also used in earlier engines that had connecting rods replaced. For these 2001-2003 models there is no easy way to check if the rods were replaced, except by checking the rod bolt diameter. If your car has the earlier M11 sized bolt, use ARP kit #201-6103 . Before opening the ARP kit, we recommend that you check your existing rod bolt size as BMW was not consistent with their applications. ARP bolts are not returnable if the package has been open.

ARP is a company that prides itself on performance and durability, no matter the application. Offering the finest engine hardware money can buy is the driving initiative at ARP and this is evidenced by the staggering amount of satisfied customers and race teams the world over.

These ARP connecting rod bolts fit the following BMWs:
1993-1999 E36 BMW Euro M3
2001-2/2003 E46 M3 coupe / convertible*
2/2003-2006 E46 M3 coupe / convertible
2001-2002 MZ3 M Roadster & M Coupe*
2006-2008 MZ4 M Roadster & M Coupe
* - these engines could have either M10 or M11 sized bolts. If the rods and rod bearings were replaced under recall by BMW it should have the newer M10 bolts and this is the correct ARP set to order.

Virtually every top professional BMW engine builder relies on ARP Pro Series head studs. ARP uses a premium grade 8740 alloy that is rated far superior to "aircraft" quality. Each stud is heat-treated to 200,000 psi, ensuring complete heat penetration. ARP studs are threaded after heat-treat, which gives them 1000% (that's ten times!) better fatigue strength than studs threaded prior to heat-treat. Threading the studs after heat-treating is more difficult and costly (as it's harder on tooling) but the results are well worth the effort. These simply are the best head studs we've found for the E36 6 cylinder engines, and we highly recommend them in both the racing and forced induction arena. (Due to the additional clamping force between the head and block, these are IDEAL for turbo charging and supercharging!)

Converting from the factory BMW head bolts to head studs makes it much easier to assemble an engine, especially a racing powerplant which must be serviced frequently (and quickly!), and also ensures proper alignment of the head and gasket. Head studs also provide more accurate and consistent torque loading. Here's why: When you use bolts to secure the head, the fastener is actually being "twisted" while it's being torqued to the proper reading. Accordingly, the bolt is reacting to two different forces simultaneously. A head stud should be installed in a "relaxed" mode -- never crank it in tightly using a jammed nut. If everything is right, the stud should be installed finger tight. Then, when applying torque to the nut, the stud will stretch only on the vertical axis. An information sheet is provided with each set. Kit includes everything pictured -- 14 head bolts, washers, bolts and assembly lubricant.

ARP is a company that prides itself on performance and durability, no matter the application. Offering the finest engine hardware money can buy is the driving initiative at ARP and this is evidenced by the staggering amount of satisfied customers and race teams the world over.

These head studs fit the following BMWs/engines (steel block only)
1992-1995 M50 6 cylinder including 325i, 325is and 525i
1996-1999 M52 6 cylinder including 328i, 328is, 323is, 528i

The roller rocker arms transfer the rotational force of the camshaft to open the intake and exhaust valves. One end is raised and lowered by the rotating lobe of the camshaft, while the other end acts on the associated valve stem. If a roller rocker arm has failed you may experience a constant ticking noise during engine operation, or alternatively if the rocker arm has broken, you will receive multiple misfires and a rough running engine.

This ARP main stud set for the 24 valves M50-based 6 cylinder engines (including M50, M52, S50US and S52US) and eliminates main cap walk and fretting, as well as protects the threads in your engine block. Each stud is made using the best materials, process, design and engineering, which exceeds even the most stringent racing and aerospace specifications. This main stud kit includes aerospace quality nuts. The studs are manufactured from 8740 chrome moly steel, heat-treated in-house to 190,000 psi tensile strength, and precision J-form threads rolled after heat-treat to create a fastener that has threads 1000% stronger than others. On the E30 M3, there's no reason to settle for anything less than the best, which is why we carry and use ARP fasteners and studs on our own BMW race cars. These bolts are M11 size to replace the stock M11 BMW bolt part number 11-24-7-834-310 (11247834310). The M11 bolt size was used in S54 engines up to 2/2003 production. However, most S54 engines up to that point had their rod bearings replaced under a factory recall and some may have had new connecting rods installed at the same time (or even a new engine altogether). The new bolts installed in these earlier engines are M10 size. Unfortunately, there is no way of knowing which rod or bolt is currently in your car (unless your car came with service records detailing when and what was replaced). The only sure way to know is to check the bolts currently installed in your engine. If yours was updated to the M10 sized bolt, use ARP kit #201-6102 . ARP bolts are not returnable if the pacakge has been open.

These simply are the best head studs we've found and we highly recommend them in both racing and forced induction applications. Due to the additional clamping force between the head and block, these are IDEAL for turbocharged engines.

ARP is a company that prides itself on performance and durability, no matter the application. Offering the finest engine hardware money can buy is the driving initiative at ARP and this is evidenced by the staggering amount of satisfied customers and race teams the world over.

Upgrade the performance of your BMW N63 engine with our ARP Head Stud Kits, specifically designed for the turbocharged V-8 N63 engine. As you increase the power output of your engine beyond its factory specifications, the head and block may start to separate, causing factory bolts to stretch and fail. Our ARP Head Studs are designed to be stronger than factory bolts, ensuring your race engine stays together even under extreme conditions. Our Custom Age 625+ kit is made from a material with a tensile strength of 260 ksi, substantially higher than the 190 ksi of the ARP 2000 head stud. It's an ideal choice for individuals who want to push the limits of their N63 builds.

This ARP Main Stud Kit is designed to replace BMW 11111735525 for the S14 B20, S14B23, S14B25, S14B27 engines found in the E30 M3. One significant advantage of these main studs is their ability to prevent main cap walk, which can occur when the main caps shift or move out of position, potentially causing damage to the engine. In addition, ARP Main Studs can safeguard the threads of your engine block, providing an extra layer of protection against potential damage. When opting for main studs instead of factory bolts, it's important to note that the engine builder should mic the bores. Using studs may require a line hone to ensure proper fitment and alignment. A line hone is a machining process that can be used to resize and reshape the main bearing bores, ensuring that they are perfectly round and concentric. This is crucial for ensuring proper oil clearance and preventing premature bearing wear. By mic'ing the bores and performing a line hone if necessary, engine builders can ensure that the main studs are installed correctly and that the engine will perform reliably and at its best.

One major hurdle for a track-only car is the limitation of the hydraulic valve lifters in the M50, S50-US, M52, S52-US, M52TU, and M54 engines. These effectively limit your revs to 7200-7300 RPM as the valves 'float' at higher revs, leading to piston-valve contact. By converting to a machined solid lifter, and upgrading other areas of the engine, you can configure the valve train to withstand high RPM running. Not only can you tune for more power, you can help prevent damage during a mild mechanical over-rev.

This kit includes the mechanical spacers to convert hydraulic lifter tappets to solid lifters. The lifter bucket remains in place with the Schrick solid tappet replacing the original. These work on all M50, M52, S50, S52 and M54 engines and were proven in normally aspirated as well as supercharged engines. A custom camshaft is required.

Professional installation and setup is mandatory as these require complete assembly of the head, checking valve lash, then dis-assembly and machining of the Schrick tappet to spec. This kit includes enough spacers for 24 valves. We also carry individual parts, if you are looking for single pieces. This price is for a full set of 24.
