Clutch:
Upgrade for 135i/335i/535i models from the 335is! Featuring a heavy-duty clutch with more holding power and a stock-like pedal feel. Excellent solution for If your clutch is slipping, or the engagement isn't what it used to be, it's time for a replacement. Slipping clutches won't allow your BMW to accelerate properly and can pose problems under a load such as going up large inclines. Also, a worn clutch can cause less precise and engaging shifts. The DCT transmission in your BMW is nothing short of incredible and exhilarating, but also astronomically expensive to replace. BMW has been labeling fluids as "lifetime" for quite some time now, and as enthusiasts and owners have learned over the years, there simply is no fluid that last a lifetime.
This DCT service kit that takes the guesswork out of a fluid change . No need to track down the correct fluid and plugs, simply open the box, and get the job done the correct way. By servicing your DCT transmission, you will be assured that old, broken down fluid won't cause a several thousand dollar nightmare. We recommend this service every 40,000 miles to keep your transmission going strong for years to come.

Please note: We include 5 quarts of DCT fluid because without a GT1 diagnostic tool and much more involved labor, you will not be able to replace over 5 quarts of fluid. Many elect to do this service and simply flush the fluid 5,000 miles later to ensure all fluid has been flushed, but this is not mandatory.
Both the cartridge and suction filters have their own challenges in replacing. For best results, replace both.
Shifter slop is a common complaint among all BMW models. Some of that play comes from the bushings where the shifter carrier mounts to the transmission. The original rubber carrier bushings don't last very long and when they get too soft the shifter flops around. These Delrin bushings have almost no deflection and will last much longer than the factory rubber, giving you precise shifting for many years.
Note: this is only one part of the shift linkage and there may be other components that need replacing to improve shifting feel.
New carrier bushing pins are included.
Automatic transmissions are reliable, shift smoothly, and can last without issue so long as they are properly maintained. Over time, the transmission fluid becomes thick and the filter becomes contaminated with small metal particles. This can cause excess wear, high transmission operating temperatures, and eventual failure. To prevent this we recommend changing your filter, fluid, and seals to ensure your transmission continues to operate flawlessly. We recommend filter and fluid changes every 50,000 miles.

A sloppy shifter is one of the common complaints of older BMWs. In addition to the shifter linkage the transmission mounts contribute to rough and clunky shifting. BMW transmission mounts are rubber and get softer over time. This allows the transmission to dance around which changes the geometry of the shift linkage and could make it harder to shift. These urethane transmission bushings are stiffer than the stock rubber mounts and won't let the transmission shift around as much. The round design also has more surface area than the stock mounts which helps spread the load. Because the urethane is stiffer, expect more vibration to make its way into the shift lever area. Engine motor mounts should also be considered as a cause for driveline vibration, transmission movement, and poor shifting. Consider replacing your motor mounts at the same time as your tranny mounts.

Collapsing and worn engine mounts can mean big trouble for N52/N54/N55 cars. The stock mounts are filled with fluid that can leak or evaporate over time. That leaves the mount unstable and too flexible to properly support the engine. The side effects of a worn engine mount are: shaking and vibrating engine, driveline twist from engine torque that can break or snap bushings, and broken motor mount arms and bolts. This is a Genuine BMW replacement. When doing any sort of repair or maintenance there is no replacement for genuine factory parts.
