BMWs are well-known for their problematic cooling systems, which are often a catalyst for irreversible engine damage and a hefty repair bill. The coolant expansion tank—a crucial component responsible for holding hot engine coolant under high pressure—is a common cause of cooling system issues. Unfortunately, BMW chose to manufacture the factory E9X N55 expansion tank out of plastic. After years of exposure to high coolant temperatures, ambient engine bay heat, and chemical-rich antifreeze, the plastic degrades, eventually weakening enough to fail catastrophically.

With this issue in mind, our team of BMW enthusiasts engineered the ultimate cooling system upgrade for E82/88 and E90/92/93 owners: a heavy-duty expansion tank built to last! Crafted from durable 5052 TIG-welded aluminum, this tank resists high temperatures and pressures without degrading over time. Unlike the fragile OEM plastic tank, Turner’s design eliminates the risk of cracking, leaking, or failure. To guarantee exact fitment, the upgraded tank was designed using advanced 3D CAD modeling. All bungs, nipples, and fittings are precision-machined to ensure a secure seal with factory hose ends. Unlike other aftermarket options, this tank maintains the factory coolant capacity and includes our laser-cut logo plate at the top, providing an accurate fill level. Internal baffles are incorporated to prevent fluid cavitation, eliminating air pockets in the cooling system and avoiding false coolant level warnings during spirited driving.

The bearing housing is precision CNC machined from 6061-T6 anodized aluminum and features a knurled OD to ensure a perfect press fit, and utilize a sealed OEM BMW ball joint for exceptional quality and durability, making them completely at home on both the street and track with no compromise.  We have done extensive street, autocross, and track testing to ensure the ball joint used in this bushing design excels in each setting.  The advantage of a sealed ball joint is that it eliminates all unwanted deflection while still allowing complete bind-free movement throughout suspension travel, resulting in exceptional control of wheel alignment.  What you get is superior steering precision, turn-in response, direct braking feedback, and better handling.

A BMWs sub-frame is the heart of the suspension - as the subframe twists and shifts under load all of the suspension mounting points also move. The rear suspension feels loose and lacks precision. As rubber or hydroelastic bushings wear the bushing deflection gets worse. If you have a highly tuned 335i/xi you're putting even more strain on weak bushings. The solution is a stiffer and more durable material. Even BMW has moved to solid mounts on the F10 M5 and F8X M3/M4. These fully solid E82/E90/E92 aluminum mounts have zero deflection - the subframe does not move at all. The rest of the suspension can work as designed and maintain the proper alignment and motion ratios. The driver will notice the difference as the car is more stable and the handling is more precise.

Although we designed these for use in our racecars, they can work on the street so long as the driver can tolerate some additional noise, vibration, and harshness. These mounts are CNC machined in the USA and made with high-grade aluminum. The set is for all four subframe mounts.

Sometimes choosing the correct shift kit proves difficult when you dual-purpose your favorite vehicle, we understand this well. The early days for any race enthusiast usually begins with a car that is needed to daily drive and setup to get out on the track. What becomes difficult is properly modifying that car to feel comfortable in both situations which is why we took this view on our new short shift line. This upgraded lever is a quick swap option to replace the standard shift lever that come with our kits so you can keep your hands closer to the wheel while shifting at high speeds. Designed from anodized aluminum this lever looks great in any interior for the daily driver who simply prefers the taller lever look and feel.

NOTE THAT THESE ARE DESIGNED TO WORK WITH TURNER MOTORSPORT SHORT SHIFTERS ONLY - We wanted to give you the option to buy one separately, in case you changed your mind after buying our short shifter.

If allowed in the rules these solid aluminum engine and transmission mounts offer many advantages over a urethane or Delrin mounts. It's no wonder that these mounts have found their way into the top BMW racers in the country. These are machined from solid aluminum and have zero deflection, engine torque will cause a rubber or urethane mount to flex or deflect allowing more torque to passed through the drive line (instead of being wasted winding up the mount). When paired with our flex-free solid transmission mounts you'll get smoother, crisper shifts since the transmission is no longer dancing on the pliable mount. This puts the shift linkages in better consistent alignment. And unlike rubber or urethane the aluminum has zero wear and is not affected by leaking oil or other fluids so this is likely the last set of motor and transmission mounts you will ever need. We very strongly recommend using the solid transmission and engine mounts together as a complete kit, mixing a rubber mount with a metal mount will cause undue stress on the mounting points and will lead to a failure. We never advise using a solid engine mount unless a corresponding solid transmission mount is also used.

These are a no-compromise design for all-out racing use, full solid aluminum mounts should not be used on street-driven cars since there is no material to absorb vibration making these quite harsh for regular street use (track cars don't care about noise).
