For dozens of years, enthusiasts have critiqued the imprecise and vague feeling of BMW manual transmissions. Plagued with long throws, fore and aft play in gear, and a generally loose feeling, your OEM BMW shifter leaves much to be desired. While most standard carrier-mount short throw shifter kits will aid in reducing throw length and eliminating side-to-side play in gear, some enthusiasts long for a hardcore, race-inspired shifter that completely removes play and excessive throw length. At Turner Motorsport we share the same desire and set out to offer the ULTIMATE upgrade with this Performance Chassis Mount Short Shifter.
WHY UPGRADE?
Factory BMW shifter assemblies are complex by nature. The main component of this assembly is the shift carrier, a cast aluminum piece positioned inside the transmission tunnel that incorporates bushings at both ends for mounting. Like most factory parts, these bushings are designed to reduce NVH (noise, vibration, and harshness) transmission to the cabin. To the spirited driver, however, these bushings translate to flex and vagueness in the shift lever. Moreover, because this carrier is mounted to both the transmission and the body, the entire shifter assembly will "float" with the driveline, further increasing the vague and imprecise feeling of your shifter.
Our Performance Chassis Mount Short Shifter removes the shift carrier assembly entirely—removing any prospect of flex caused by bushings or driveline movement. By contrast, this chassis mount shifter offers a drastic reduction in shift lever travel, vagueness, and side-to-side play. An elevated base allows for moving the fulcrum point upwards, resulting in a much shorter and more precise throw. Shift times are further reduced by a tall, "rally style" shift lever, used to aid in leverage while also bringing the lever closer to the steering wheel. Our design incorporates a proprietary centering spring design, which is adjustable for increasing or decreasing self-centering force. In short, this design eliminates all the drawbacks of your factory BMW shifter, translating to more control, greater precision, shorter throws, and faster shift times.

This carbon fiber strut brace uses a flat-oval design with a hinge-less mounting system that makes this one of the best strut braces on the market (especially at the price!). Cornering forces can put stress on the chassis, especially when used with stickier tires and stiffer suspensions.Strut braces help to reduce chassis flex by tying the two strut towers together. This design is stronger than most strut braces that use a hinge on the end that allows additonal flex. This design has fixed end mounts that the strut bar is bolted to. The slim oval tube is 100% carbon fiber for excellent strength and rigidty. The entire assembly is less than 5lbs and installs in minutes.

This eccentric shaft is a vital component of your BMW's N55 Valvetronic system, responsible for precise control of valve lift. In the N55 engine, the Valvetronic system uses intermediate levers between the camshaft and lifters to adjust valve lift dynamically. Strong stopping power - Increased coefficient of friction offers satisfying stopping power when cold (a necessity for a street pad!) and even more G-force-inducing power when they warm up. With cold and warm friction comparable to Hawk HPS (and higher than many other street pads) the stopping experience with the EP24 pad is impressive for street-driven vehicles on streetable tires. Positive initial bite - Race pads have the reputation of acting like an on/off switch, which is a no-go for a pad for a street application. The EP24 offers OE-level initial bite for low-stress braking in stop-and-go situations. Reasonable dust - Race pads utilize a high metallic composition. Pads that use high amounts of metal not only dust terribly, but also will bake onto wheels with high temperatures and are a bear to clean. This is not the case with these performance street pads. Now using these pads on most of our shop cars, we’ve found over time that dust is comparable to factory pads in most applications (with greatly improved braking performance). Quiet braking - It’s not a race pad, so it shouldn’t squeal like one. While not as quiet as our ceramic DD23 pad, you’ll still be able to drive your spouse to dinner. Long life - This should be an obvious one. Even in a performance pad, your daily driver pads should last and last, so that was key in selecting our ideal compound. This compound wears slower and is kinder to rotors than two of the top competitors.

This Euro air intake is less restrictive than the stock intake and also allows much easier acces to the air filter from the top. In addition, this airbox uses a cylinder style filter instead of a standard square filter for higher flow.
The MAF sensor from your original airbox will need to be reused as the connector in the Euro box is a small 2-pin connector.
