The coolant expansion tank goes through heat cycles over and over again from regular driving, it is important that your expansion tank is doing its job to retain coolant to keep your engine operating temperatures down and keep your engine bay clean. Red Line 75W140 is a full synthetic high-performance gear oil that is an excellent substitute for expensive factory fluid and an upgrade over off-the-shelf economy fluid. Red Line thoroughly evaluates the manufacturer's recommendations and only makes a fluid recommendation if their own product meets or exceeds the original specification. In many cases the Red Line synthetic will outperform the factory supplied fluids. We've been using Red Line Oil in our BMWs since we opened in 1994 and it remains our best selling BMW differential fluid. 75/140 is a specialized weight used for BMW M3, M5, and M6 models with the M Variable limited slip diff (all M models since 2001). Red Line fluid is used in nearly all E46 M3, E92 M3, E60 M5 we service as well as the custom differentials that we sell. It's great for the street where the polyol-ester base has natural lubricity and friction modifiers lead to smoother and quieter operation with lower operating temps than the factory fluid. We also use it in the track cars we build and prep. It may also be used in other specialized situations where a regular 75/90 will be too thin at elevated temperatures and your diff builder has approved a heavier weight oil.
Recommended for API GL-5, GL-6, MT-1, MIL-L-2105E, and SAE J2360. An alternative to the very expensive factory BMW SAF-XJ+FM diff fluid (#83222282583).

Knock down the roadblocks preventing you from performing regular maintenance on your BMW. On the E9x and E8x chassis you run into issues with changing the rear spark plugs and coil packs. A job that should take approximately an hour or so ends up taking significantly longer because you have to remove the cowl and all associated screws. Most of the time the screws end up missing or dropped into your engine bay which can be a headache and you have to order new hardware or deal with the cowl being incorrectly fastened.
Cowl delete filters are a great addition to your E9x or E8x chassis; these filters allow you to get rid of clutter in the engine bay which adds benefits like weight reduction, improved air flow in the engine bay, more room for working on the engine and an overall cleaner engine bay appearance. We all know it is important to keep up on engine maintenance to keep your BMW running at peak performance and prevent larger future issues. When we can eliminate any roadblocks or additional work preventing us for performing engine maintenance this could make it less daunting to go change spark plugs, coil packs or simple filters.

This is Red Line's latest synthetic transmission fluid that is compatible with BMW's MTF-LT3 transmission fluid. This is the transmission fluid used in both manual and automatic transmissions since the mid-2000's. To confirm, check the decal located on the side of your transmission. Price is per quart.
Synthetic D6 ATF is a lower viscosity version of the D4ATF and is designed for better fuel efficiency in CAFE testing. Dexron VI requires a different approach to a conventional ATF formulation. Rather than beginning with a 7.5 cSt fluid and allowing a viscosity loss in use to drop to 5.5 cSt, the Dexron VI fluid requires a starting viscosity of less than 6.4 and a final drop to no less than 5.5 cSt. Red Line D6 will drop to no less than 6.1 cSt. Since the final viscosity after use of these fluids are similar, Dexron VI fluids can be used where Dexron III fluids were previously recommended (with the exception of some manual transmission applications, our customers report).
D6 ATF also provides significantly improved gear protection and will provide a GL-4 level of gear protection. The balanced frictional characteristics provide smooth and consistent shifts for extended drain intervals. The superior stability compared to petroleum ATFs allows high-temperature operation without varnishing valves and clutches which leads to transmission failure.
