Genuine BMW Oil Level Sensor - BMW B58C/B58D B46D/B48D (TU Engines)

BMW has eliminated the dipstick in favor of electric oil level sensors located in the bottom of the oil pan. These sensors are designed to monitor both the oil level and oil condition, alerting you when the oil level is too low or the quality of the oil has dropped and should be changed. Unfortunately, like many BMW electrical components, these sensors are prone to failure and can result in improper level and quality readings. If you recently changed your oil and know the readings are incorrect, there is a good chance your sensor has failed.
