BMW OE differential bushings are made of a soft compound rubber, designed to absorb vibrations between the chassis and differential, providing comfort and softness for normal driving conditions. However, differential bushings are a wear item. They are not designed to last the life of the car and should be inspected periodically, especially if you drive more aggressively, as this can also wear out these bushings even faster. If you ever notice any cracking in the bushings, its time to replace them, for the best driving feel and experience. Not only are the factory bushings quite soft, but they also wear out rather quickly. If you just picked up a used E9X vehicle, odds are the differential bushings could use replaced.
Enter ECS Tuning's In-House Engineered Performance Polyurethane Differential Bushings. These differential bushings provide a more enhanced driving experience by removing unwanted movement from the driveline. By eliminating the drivetrain deflection that factory rubber bushings permit, throttle response is improved, and the tendency for a car to “Wheel Hop” is significantly reduced. These bushings are engineered to withstand extreme driveline forces, so you can always count on them to perform in even the harshest conditions.
All of this translates to better power transfer from the differential to wheels, which means better throttle control and handling while carving a canyon road, drag racing, sliding the rear end out, or just driving to work. This is achieved without the harshness or vibration associated with delrin or solid differential mounts.
Featuring a tough 95A Durometer Red Polyurethane, and Black Anodized 6061-T6 aluminum Sleeve, the F8X Performance Polyurethane Differential Bushings are more resistant to chemicals, ozone degradation, road salt, and general wear and tear than factory rubber bushings, resulting in a longer life span.
