It's perfectly normal for your sway bar mounting points to fail on your BMW E30. All of the years of corrosion, fatigue, and stress can take their toll on the less-than-robust OE brackets. Those enjoying spirited drives, or anyone running upgraded sway bars are destined to need an upgraded bracket. Whether the time has come for a replacement, or if the itch of preventative maintenance needs scratched, don't replace - upgrade. The improved construction will provide reduced flex in the sway bars, and ultimately improve the overall rigidity of the chassis and decrease body roll.

Not sure what bar you have currently? Measure your bar (not your bushing) using a set of calipers - if you don't have calipers handy, grab a set of wrenches and determine which size you have by which size wrench fits on your bar.
