Shift Into A New Driving Experience This Summer

Manual-transmission equipped BMWs offer a more engaging and rewarding drive, but they aren’t perfect. As shifter components age, they become sloppy. Even new shifters are still likely too long in the throws and vague in the feeling to provide the pinnacle of shifting feel that you can get from your BMW. At Turner Motorsport, we recognize the importance for clean, crisp, precise shifts for daily driving enjoyment and consistent performance on the track. That’s why we developed our comprehensive short shift kits for many of the popular BMW models and are now excited to reveal the final piece to the shifter puzzle: our new Dual Shear Selector Rod upgrades!

While our catalog isn’t complete, we are happy to offer DSSR upgrade kits for E30, E36, and E46 owners who want the most direct shift feeling possible from their BMW. The DSSR pairs perfectly with our existing short shift kit upgrades so you can achieve the ultimate shifter precision possible.

You may be entirely familiar with our short shift kit upgrades and famous ‘rally lever’ shifter extension, but DSSRs are a bit less common. The selector rod connects to your transmission from your shift lever, which ultimately is where the magic outside the transmission happens. Even with a rebuilt shifter assembly or our short shift kit upgrade, you may find that some side-to-side play still exists.

That side-to-side play is from the selector rod joints and the rod itself, which inherently allows for some deflection. Our DSSR kit completely eliminates that final point of deflection and changes the one-side slip through design of the factory selector rod to a two-sided coupler that is extremely tight and rigid. 

With no play in the selector rod, and a TMS short shift kit, you can fine-tune your shift feeling to the most accurate and consistently precise experience possible. No more missed shifts, no vague or sloppy feeling, just a tight, responsive, and engaging shift feel. 

Of course, our kit is more than just the DSSR itself. We know you need to refresh that selector rod joint, so we include the OEM joint for you to truly experience the benefits of this DSSR. While it’s certainly an improvement over stock by itself, we highly suggest you pair the DSSR kit with our short shift kit for the ultimate driving experience.
