BMW Radiators & Cooling System Overhaul Kits

We sell only OEM Behr, Original BMW, or approved aftermarket upgrade radiators for your BMW. It seems BMW took some shortcuts when it came to radiator design and used too many weak materials like plastic for critical connections. The core and sizing of the radiators are generally sufficient for the intended application but problems can occur at hose connections, upper or lower necks, and plastic end tanks. The radiators we sell are all OEM designs to keep the quality high. In some cases the OEM has made design improvements to prevent past issues. There are a number of non-OEM replacement radiators that use even cheaper materials and poor workmanship which only leads to more problems. On some models we offer OEM alternatives that perform as upgrades to the original designs and we also offer full race all-aluminum radiator upgrades that solve all of the issues with plastic radiators.
For accurate results, specify your model below.
This regulator valve has cooling lines that run from/to the radiator transmission oil cooler (heat exchanger), and water pump. If this item fails the transmission or water cooled alternator may overheat.

OEM BEHR brand replacement radiator for all E60 525i/xi 528i/xi, 530i/xi with the N52 engine. This radiator is made by BEHR, an original equipment supplier to BMW. BEHR radiators are what we use our own BMWs and customer installs. We've found the BEHR radiator has the highest lifespan, least amount of manufacturing defects, and best continued cooling performance. Simply put, you do not want anything else in your BMW but a BEHR brand radiator.

This radiator expansion tank is used on E53 X5 4.4i and 4.6is with M62 engine, and Z3 2.3 2.5i 2.8 3.0i from 1999-2002. It is a common failure item as the plastic weakens over time and stress cracks will lead to coolant leaks. We have found that the expansion tanks should be replaced based on age as well as condition. Expansion tanks seem to have a lifespan of less than six years before they show signs of fatigue and wear. Pre-emptively replacing the expansion tank as part of an overall maintenance plan can prevent you from getting stranded from a sudden failure later on. This is the OEM Behr part - not an aftermarket. We have found that the aftermarket coolant reservoirs fail easier than the OEM Behr part.

This item fits the following BMWs:
2000-2003 X5 BMW X5 4.4i X5 4.6is
1999-2002 Z3 BMW Z3 2.3 2.5i 2.8 3.0i

This cooling overhaul will cover just about everything you could replace on the 135/335's cooling system. We start with the basic water pump and thermostat bundle. These are already vital to the health and durability of the N54 135/335. But to properly maintain these cars for the long term, the rest of the cooling system must be refreshed and preventatively replaced. Here you can add a radiator, expansion tank, all of the 135/335 cooling hoses, and the BMW antifreeze. This package fits 135/335 with N54 engine and auto transmission. Some of the components are different for the automatic models because of the auto transmission oil cooler.

The sophisticated electronics of the ECU and water pump means catastrophic overheating should be a thing of the past. But the downside is that the electronics can shut down without any warning or symptoms. And troubleshooting is equally frustrating since the water pump electronics are not readable or serviceable. There are several clues to a faulty thermostat or water pump - the fan runs at full speed all the time (even immediately on a cold start), pending (soft) fault code for low coolant flow, or the water pump can be heard running constantly. But when the pump fails it's an immediate shut down of the engine which can be a major inconvenience and lead to additional repairs that might have been avoided with preventative maintance. We recommend a full cooling system overhaul on the E90/E92 every 80-90,000 miles and to check for soft/pending codes at every 5,000 mile service .

Base Cooling Overhaul Package - Water Pump and Thermostat
Includes:
+ Genuine BMW electric water pump, p/n 11517588885 or 11517632426
+ mounting screws for water pump (set of 3), p/n 11517602123
+ OEM Behr thermostat, p/n 11537549476
+ Original BMW connecting hose from thermostat to water pump, p/n 11537545665
+ OEM-style hose clamps for hose (x 2)

The water pump on the N54 engine has more cooling responsibilities than ever before. Not only must it provide cooling for the engine, but it's also pumping fluid used to cool the turbocharger oil and automatic transmission oil. The good news is that the pump only works when, and only as much, as it needs to. That means the system can actually stop the pump when it doesn't need to be running. The bad news is that it's now an electrical part, so a failure is usually immediate and with no warning. The preventative replacement is your only insurance from a very inconvenient and costly breakdown in the future. Plus you get the very latest BMW water pump design with any improvements they've made since your original pump was installed.
Cooling Hoses
With regular driving the hoses should last a very long time. Even the plastic connectors seem to be holding up well. But as a preventative measure new hoses are recommended. We have also seen issues with re-using hoses as the spring connectors get weak over time and may not have the strength to hold the hose in place. They seem to have a tough time holding tension especially when they have been removed and reinstalled. In the interests of a thorough overhaul we recommend replacing these 335 water hoses during this job (see diagram):
  • 17127540127, upper radiator hose (A)
  • 17127564480, lower radiator hose (B)
  • 11537541992, thermostat to cylinder head (includes new o-ring) ©
  • 11537558523, water pump to engine (D)
  • 11537545302, gasket for #523 hose
  • 17117541143, radiator to auto trans cooler €
There are other hoses too but they are not often replaced during a radiator swap (radiator vent hose and heater core hose) and they don't see much wear. We offer these as well if you want a complete set (see Additional Items at the bottom of the page).
Expansion Tank Options
The expansion tank on the 135/335 is not prone to failures (unlike previous 3-series cars) so a new one is not strictly required. There aren't many seams or stress points for it to crack and we haven't heard of too many issues. But we wanted to offer it as part of a complete overhaul in case you want to cover everything. Simiarly, the level sensor is not required unless you're getting erroneous 'low coolant' warnings from the dash/iDrive. We do strongly recommend replacing the cap because that is designed to be the weak point in the system. The cap is what regulates the pressure inside the system and it should be replaced every few years anyway.

This cooling package for the E30 M3 consists of all of the major components on the S14's cooling system. There are no major weak points to the E30's cooling system, unless you count skipped maintenance. The entire system is serviceable in individual components so you don't need to buy a complete package of parts. Many of the indivdual parts are on our site but we have setup this package to cover all or most of what you would need to perform a major overhaul. This overhaul package consists of an Genuine BMW radiator and then you build the package from there. Add hoses, sensors, water pumps, thermostats, gaskets, hose clamps, and more. We also sell the Original BMW antifreeze to finish off the job.

Any problems with the cooling system are likely electrical. Sensors become corroded and fail over time which will send the incorrect signal to the corresponding unit, including the engine computer. Diagnosis of electrical type problems is easy and repair with the OEM Bosch or OE BMW sensors is not too expensive for a car like this. Electrical connections, particularly solder joints, can also become brittle and fail. These are not helped by the intense vibrations of the S14.

Top Turner Tip for a healthy S14!
E30 M3s always seem to have cooling problems at the most inconvenient time. If the temp gauge starts rising in the summer months first check and make sure your auxiliary cooling fan is working if it's not it's most likely the switch or the wiring going to the switch. Also remember that the E30 instrument conductor plate can make the gauge read whacky try tapping the gauge if it seems like it's acting up. When it's time to do a water pump (which weeps through a hole on the bottom before it goes completely) take a good look at the radiator too its not expensive and you have to remove it to install the pump anyway.

Use the options below to build your package.

This cooling package fits the following BMWs:
1988-1991 E30 BMW M3
Part #: TMS16418

This is the radiator drain plug (petcock valve) for manual transmission E82 and E9X models. The plug actually has two drains built in - the traditional blue petcock valve which is part of the black hex plug. If you drain the coolant from your radiator through this plug you could be in for a nasty surprise. The black hex plug has tabs that lock it into position in the factory BMW radiator. Once it's installed the tabs lock in place. But if you remove the black hex the tabs snap off and the plug will no longer seal correctly! Do not drain your coolant without having one of these on hand as a spare! It's cheap insurance on a definite leak later on.

Fits auto transmission only.

Note: the Behr OEM radiator that we sell does not use this same drain plug. It has it's own drain plug that does not use the tabs. You won't need the factory BMW drain plug ever again.

Mishimoto E46 Aluminum Radiator features -

  • All aluminum construction
  • More durable and longer lasting than plastic components
  • 20% more capacity in the same space
  • Excellent fit and finish
  • Unbeatable lifetime warranty and accident-forgiveness

Mishimoto radiators address all of the defects of the stock E46 radiator in a well-engineered and price-competitive direct replacement unit. The Mishimoto radiator is an all aluminum design that replaces the factory plastic and aluminum stock radiator. The stock plastic end tanks are notorious for cracking and leaks whereas the Mishimoto has aluminum end tanks that will never fail. Mishimoto can also build 30% more coolant capacity into the a radiator that fits in the original location with no modifications. More coolant volume means the fluid is not heat soaked for as long (less super heated fluid circulating through the engine). For a direct replacement performance radiator, the Mishimoto is hard to beat!

Mishimoto was established in 2003 as a supplier of cooling components for drift and rally cars. Their radiators and intercoolers soon found a strong following in the hyper competitive drift scene where high horsepower and prolonged high revs dictate the need for durable and robust cooling solutions. The catchy Mishimoto name is a combination of the name of the founder's family pet - Mishi - and "moto". All products are designed and tested in the USA using state-of-the-art CAD tools and prototyping and with continuous evolution of product design. Mishimoto is so dedicated to quality that they offer a limited lifetime warranty and accident forgiveness.

There are three versions of the water pump for the early 1997-1998 540i: OEM plastic impeller, updated metal impeller, and the more recently updated composite impeller. We recommend either the metal or composite impeller. These are what we use the most in our shop and what our technicians are comfortable with. On more recent models, BMW has used the composite impeller as original. There doesn't seem to be evidence of the plastic failing on this design (it did on the E36 3-series) but we feel most comfortable with the other options. Both the metal and composite manufacturers are OEM for BMW.

This cooling overhaul will cover just about everything you could replace on the 328 SULEV's cooling system. We start with the basic water pump and thermostat bundle. These are already vital to the health and durability of the N51 328i SULEV. But to properly maintain these cars for the long term, the rest of the cooling system must be refreshed and preventatively replaced. Here you can add a radiator, expansion tank, all of the 328 SULEV cooling hoses, and the BMW antifreeze. This package fits 128i/328i SULEV with N51 engine and automatic transmission.

Includes:
+ Genuine BMW electric water pump, p/n 11517586925
+ mounting screws for water pump (set of 3), p/n 11510392553
+ OEM Behr thermostat, p/n 11537549476
+ Original BMW connecting hose from thermostat to water pump, p/n 11537521049
+ OEM-style hose clamps for hose (x 2)

The water pump on the N51 engine has more cooling responsibilities than ever before.
In the interests of a thorough overhaul we recommend replacing these 328 SULEV water hoses during this job (see diagram):
  • 17127531579, upper radiator hose
  • 17127531581, lower radiator hose
  • 11537613176, water pump to engine
  • 11537534880, gasket for #176 hose
  • 11537545890, thermostat to cylinder head (includes new o-ring)
  • 17117524710, radiator to auto trans cooler
There are other hoses too but they are not often replaced during a radiator swap (radiator vent hose and heater core hose) and they don't see much wear. We offer these as well if you want a complete set (see Additional Items at the bottom of the page).
Expansion Tank Options
The expansion tank on the 328 SULEV is not prone to failures (unlike previous 3-series cars) so a new one is not strictly required.
Coolant Temp Sensors
There are two coolant temp sensors on the 328 SULEV - in the lower radiator hose and in the cylinder head. Both feed coolant temps to the ECU to regulate the water pump and cooling fan. You should replace the one in the lower radiator hose because it's one of the main sources for coolant leaks, especially when the old sensor is re-used in a new hose. The sensor in the cylinder head is not as prone to leaks and it's easily accessible so you don't have to replace it right away. But we offer it with the package in case you want to have a complete cooling system overahul.
13621433077, coolant temp sensor (in lower radiator hose)
13621433076, coolant temp sensor (in cylinder head, next to oil filter housing)

As the E46 M3 gets on in years and mileage, the cooling system will be one of the areas that needs the most attention. We have packaged all of the major cooling components into one overhaul kit:

  • radiator
  • water pump
  • thermostat
  • radiator hoses and clamps
  • gaskets and o-rings

We have found that the E46 M3 can develop inconvenient cooling issues, even on daily driven street cars. While the infamous radiator and water pump failures of the E36 are a thing of the past, the E46 M3 still has its own complications. The best approach to avoid bigger problems is preventative maintenance. We recommend replacing the water pump before 80,000 miles and the radiator before 100,000 miles. By addressing these problem areas before a failure, you will save yourself a larger repair bill in the future.

In addition to the standard cooling package items above, there are several other cooling-related components that may make sense to do at the same time:

  • Original BMW coolant
  • fan clutch
  • main serpentine belt and A/C belt
  • Turner Power Pulley Kit (because now is the perfect time!)

The cooling system is one of the major weak points on the N62 engine in the 545i. The water pump itself won't last more than 100,000 miles in most cases and the engine itself is prone to coolant leaks from multiple locations. So a major 545i cooling system overhaul should be planned before the 100,000 mile mark. Aside from obvious leaks the 545i water pump will also squeal or screech indicating the bearings inside have worn. This package covers the water pump, thermostat, and radiator for the 2004-2006 E60 545i with a manual transmission.

The entire cooling system on the 545i is susceptible to leaks and poor performance. The condition of the rest of the cooling system should be considered along with the water pump and thermostat. Replacing the water pump will expose the front of the V8 engine where more problem areas may appear so plan accordingly. The biggest problem is the V8 valley pan gaskets and inner coolant tube seals. The tube carrying coolant through the valley is prone to leaking and replacement is a major job ( see our valley pan pipe kit here: http://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-180693-n62-engine-collapsible-cooling-pipe-e60-e63-e65-e53-e70.aspx ). Additional items recommended to be replaced during the water pump job are: cooling hoses, expansion tank and cap, temp sensors, drive belts, and pulleys and tensioners.

Base 545i Cooling Package includes:
  • OEM Behr radiator (17117532770)
  • OEM water pump (11517524551)
  • water pump pipe (back of pump to engine block) (11511439976)

If you have ever experienced a leaking plastic BMW expansion tank you will realize the value of this aluminum version straight away. Even if a failure has not happened to you, it's easy to tell this tank is much stronger and more durable than the plastic used in the stock design. Mishimoto has extended their cooling system expertise from aluminum radiators to expansion tank design. The original BMW plastic tanks suffer from leaks and failures with no warning. While being light weight and recyclable the design and construction of the stock tank is just not up for reliable long term use. Mishimoto has designed their tank with an integrated dipstick/bleeder and a 1.3bar cap that raises the boiling point of the system (the stock radiator cap is not compatible).

The Mishimoto expansion tank takes the place of the stock tank in the stock plastic radiator fan shroud or in the Mishimoto electric fan and shroud upgrade. It takes the stock coolant level sensor and the upper and lower hoses as well.

This package fits 135/335 with N54 engine and manual transmission.

    Radiator Options
We offer two radiators for the N54 135i/335i (manual transmission): OEM Behr or racing PWR. The OEM radiator is the best option for daily and regular driving and provides enough capacity and performance for stock to mildly tuned 135/335s. It will perform just like your original radiator did for tens of thousands of miles (Behr is the original supplier to BMW). The only real downside is that it's a bit small for cars making more boost. For a radically tuned 135/335 or one that sees a lot of track use then a bulletproof aluminum radiator is your best option, and they don't come any better than PWR. The 135/335's ECU programming will reduce or shut down boost when coolant temps get too hot. So reducing heat soak of the fluid is one step in having a cooler-running engine and more consistent boost. The PWR aluminum radiator is thicker than the original which has more cooling surface area and more capacity (the coolant spends more time away from the super hot engine). Some minor trimming of the plastic fan shroud is required but otherwise it's a direct fit. PWR supplys Formula One, WRC, and NASCAR teams so their quality is second to none.
    • 11537558522, water pump to engine €
    • 11537545302, gasket for #522 hose

This is a compete cooling system overhaul kit, which includes all the common cooling system failure parts bundled into a complete package. This cooling system package is for the 2006-2007 E60 525i/525xi/530i/530xi models with an automatic transmission (N52 engine).

Much of the later E60 cooling system is strong and reliable compared to the previous generation 5-series models. But there is still the potential for serious cooling system and engine-related failures. On the N52 engine the electric water pump is the weakest link. It will fail without much warning and shut down the engine. Preventative replacement is the best course of action and the water pump and thermostat should be done before they reach 60,000 miles. Several other cooling components are due for replacement by 100,000 miles to prevent other breakdowns. A failure in the cooling system can lead to overheating and catastrophic engine failure. Don't gamble your engine! By replacing these core items preventatively you are defusing what could be a ticking cooling system time bomb. And if you've had a failure of one of these parts, now is the time to refresh your entire cooling system.

Our base kit comes with the OEM Behr thermostat, Original BMW electric water pump with mounting screws, and the u-shaped hose between the pump and thermostat. From there you can add additional items to complete the overhaul - radiator, expansion tank, cap, and new radiator hoses..

E60 525i/528i/530i Automatic Radiator Options. There are two styles of radiators for the E60 6-cylinder and automatic transmission: original and updated. You can use either radiator as long as you have the correct corresponding parts to go with it. Both radiators are still available from BMW or the OE supplier Behr. If it were up to us we would prefer the updated style because it won't cause any confusion down the road and it reduces the number of potential leak points by eliminating an unnecessary fitting.

    • Original, BMW #17117534914. This setup has an extra fitting for the engine oil heat exchanger along with a hose that attaches to the water pump pipe and heat exchanger. In order to use this radiator you must use the corresponding hose. This was the original setup as the car was built at the factory and is pictured in the radiator image to the right. At some point BMW stopped listing this part number in their official diagrams and used the 209 number below.
    • Updated, BMW #17117519209. This is the updated style from BMW. If your radiator was replaced at some point after 2010 it most likely has this radiator style. On this radiator they did away with the extra fitting for the heat exchanger. When looking at the ETK or RealOEM diagrams it will only list this radiator but with a note saying you also need two compensators (spacer blocks, #17117520335) and the hose (11537519494).

Click here for diagrams of both E60 radiator options.

E60 525i/528i/530i Cooling Hoses. There are a lot of hoses on the N52 engine. Not all of them need to be replaced during an overhaul but it would be a good idea. The hoses themselves don't wear but the metal spring clips on the connector lose their tension over time and that can lead to a leak. It's worse when re-using a hose after it's already been disconnected. Since our package includes the thermostat, water pump, and radiator we offer all of the hoses related to those components. Use the diagram on the right to see where each is connected in the engine bay. Evaluate your current hoses and then decide which ones to replace. One note about the lower radiator hose: when ordering a new hose you must order a new temp sensor. Do not reuse the original temp sensor as it will leak on the new hose.

This item fits the following BMWs:
    2006-2007 E60 BMW 525i 525xi 530i 530xi with automatic transmission

    Part #: TMS215345
    Price: $726.33 (USD)

The Cobb Front Mount Intercooler (FMIC) uses an innovative stepped design to maximize the available space in the nose without major modifications for installation. With 60% more surface area than the stock intercooler, the Cobb FMIC delivers much lower intake air temps for more consistent and useable horsepower. And special software is already available direct from Cobb to work with their FMIC via the Cobb Accessport programmer.

Heatsoak is one of the obstacles for making big power from turbobocharged engines. The stock intercooler design is commendable for single runs at the stock boost levels. But adding any more boost and the system is quickly overwhelmed. As the ECU corrects for heat soak you will be losing power, which makes your upgrades worthless. To help maintain boost levels even in the face of elevated turbocharger temperatures, a more efficient intercooler is required.

The Cobb design incorporates a thicker cooler with a super-sized 5.75" thick core. Total core dimensions are 21"x7.5"x5.75". Then they added another cooler on top for additional surface area. This stepped design uses all of the limited nose area of the E82, E90, and E92 body styles. Cast aluminum end tanks are specially formed to optimize flow (another obstacle for efficiency). Only minor modifications are required for installation and new silicone hoses and clamps are included. Unlike other kits, this intercooler is a direct replacement for N54 and N55 cars.

We recommend a full cooling system overhaul on the E90/E92 every 80-90,000 miles and to check for soft/pending codes at every 5,000 mile service .

The expansion tank on the 325/330 is not prone to failures (unlike previous 3-series cars) so a new one is not strictly required. Coolant Temp Sensors

There are two coolant temp sensors on the E90 325/330 - in the lower radiator hose and in the cylinder head.

Upgrade the cooling capacity of your E36 323i, 325i, 328i, M3 with the MZ3 S54 radiator. This thicker core radiator - 42mm core vs the stock 34mm core - is an economical way to increase the cooling capacity from the stock unit in your M20, M50, S50 or S52 equipped 3 series. The thicker core radiator has greater surface area for air to flow over, giving additional cooling capacity over the original radiator. This makes it an excellent choice for track cars that need a little extra cooling capacity. Or for supercharged engines where underhood temps can lead to heat soak in the engine compartment. This radiator also has hangers on the bottom that can fit a Euro oil cooler (cooler brackets still required).

The cooling system may be the E36's biggest letdown. Many plastic components in the system were not manufactured for longevity, especially when used in racing/track environments. Two areas of the stock radiator that are prone to failure are the plastic end-tanks and the plastic necks for the upper and lower hoses. The plastic will become brittle and crack. The solution is to use more durable materials such as aluminum or composites. This all aluminum radiator sourced from Asia, is an economic alternative to the premium pieces from PWR and Fluidyne while still addressing the stock radiator's plastic shortcomings. We have tried this radiator in some of our E36 track cars and found it fits like the stock OEM using the original mounting hardware and ability to use the stock shroud. It's the same thickness and surface area as the original radiator so there won't be any change in coolant volume and we don't expect it to lower coolant temps. But if you're installing the OEM plastic version over and over, this may be the perfect alternative at a low cost.

Note: this radiator does not have the tabs for fitting the factory Euro oil cooler

This Cooling Kit for the 1987 E30 325i covers all of the major replacement parts for the original cooling system. We start with an OEM Behr radiator and then you choose the additional parts you need to replace next. Add hoses, sensors, water pumps, thermostats, gaskets, hose clamps, and more. We also sell the correct Original BMW antifreeze to finish off the job.

Of the systems in your E30, the cooling system is not where you want to let slide or skip maintenance. Almost nothing will ruin your day more than an overheating engine and it's usually at the absolute worse time. Maintaining the cooling system is easy and you can do most or all of the work yourself with ordinary tools. There's no reason not to address a leaky or out of date cooling system right away.

    Top Turner Tip!
On the 1987 325i, pay particular attention to the alternator fan blades and the clearance to the lower radiator hose. As the engine shifts on worn motor mounts, and the alternator twists on worn bushings, the cooling blades can slice right through the hose. Replace the alternator bushings and use our motor mount reinforcements. Or convert the whole system to the 1988+ cooling system which moves the lower hose to the other side of the radiator.

To save you time and money, we recommend replacing major components with related parts.

This is a compete cooling system overhaul kit, which includes all the common M52 cooling system failure parts bundled into a complete package. This cooling system package is for the 1997-1998 528i with the M52 engine with either the manual or automatic transmission.

Much of the E39 cooling system is shared with the 3-series cars of the same era. Which means the potential for serious cooling system and engine-related failures. Several of the primary cooling components are prone to failure within 60k miles (or less in many cases). A failure in the cooling system can lead to overheating and catastrophic engine failure. Don't gamble your engine! By replacing these core items preventatively, such as the radiator & waterpump, you are defusing what could be a ticking cooling system time bomb. And if you've had a failure of one of these parts, now is the time to refresh your cooling system. Our kit includes one OEM Behr radiator, an Original BMW water pump (with updated composite impeller), thermostat, radiator cap, and new radiator hoses.

    Basic Kit Contents:
    17111702969, radiator (OEM Behr)
    11517527799, water pump (OE BMW)
    11537511580, 88°C thermostat (OEM Behr/Hella)
11531740832, upper radiator hose (OEM Rein/CRP)
11531740481, lower radiator hose (OEM Rein/CRP)
17111427156, expansion tank hose (OEM Rein/CRP)
17111742231, expansion tank cap (OEM Behr/Hella)

    Cooling Kit Options:
    E39 Water Pump Options

OE BMW with composite impeller. The original BMW water pumps had plastic impellers which degraded and failed. The latest design uses composites that are much better and will not corrode. Compared to a metal impeller, the composite is lighter so it's more efficient and it will not wear out the bearings. We don't even offer the metal impeller pumps with this kit because the BMW composite one is so much better.
Stewart high performance. The ultimate in M50 water pumps! It features a stainless steel impeller, heavy-duty bearings, a better o-ring seal, and flows 20% more than the stock pump. If indestructible is what you're looking for, this is the pump to go with. It also comes with a lifetime warranty for piece of mind.
    E39 Expansion Tank
The original expansion tank is prone to cracks and leakage. Again - it's made from a weak plastic. The material has improved over the years but the only option remains an OEM plastic tank. It's a good idea to replace it if you're doing a whole overhaul. Don't re-use the original tank if you're going to the trouble of replacing everything else!
    E39 Thermostat Housing
The original BMW plastic thermostat housing is brittle and does not seal well. We only sell it under protest. Instead we've been selling this aluminum housing for the last 20+ years. The aluminum does not have the same shortcomings as the plastic one. We made this item an option in case you already have the aluminum housing.

This radiator cover is from the Euro market M3 and is a nice touch when cleaning up your US M3 engine bay. It's the same shape and covers the radiator and radiator support but has a different look than the usual US piece. That helps your engine bay stand out when showing it off. The Euro radiator cover does not have a cooling duct for the alternator like the US cover so you will have to take that into consideration.

This radiator is the OE BMW replacement for the stock radiator in the E90, E92, and E93 M3. Keeping your M3 at peak performance means including your cooling system in your regular maintenance schedules with the radiator, water pump, and thermostat being the primary components needing replacement. Not only can a failed radiator leave you stranded, but the sophisticated engine electronics will limit engine operability if temperatures reach a certain level. So having an efficient and fully functional cooling system is critical not only for safety but for performance as well. Don't wait until it's too late!

This is the OE BMW radiator.

    RE-DESIGNED AND RE-ENGINEERED!!

We have collaborated with FLUIDYNE on improving their already excellent aluminum radiator for the E36. The features that made FLUIDYNE a leader in the E36 radiator market continue but with some new elements requested by the Turner Motorsport R&D staff. We have made the radiator easier to fit with the stock fan shroud and hanger mounts. The shroud will be better secured to the radiator than before which saves time and hassle. Our goal was to make this as close to a "drop-in" replacement as possible. We also had new hangers installed on the bottom to accommodate the factory E36 Euro oil cooler and our oil cooler hangers. A zinc anode drain plug absorbs static electricity from the coolant which helps prolong the life of temp sensors. There has never been a better E36 radiator upgrade than this! For an E36 track or modded street car there should be no reason to ever go back to a stock plastic radiator or compromise on a cheap aluminum radiator. The latest FLUIDYNE is the best there is.

The stock radiator has an aluminum core but with plastic end-tanks and hose connections that become brittle and can leak or crack. You may not even realize your radiator neck is cracked until it's too late and you're stranded on the side of the freeway or unable to continue with your track day. An all-aluminum design does not suffer the defects of similar plastic construction. FLUIDYNE quality is what sets them apart from every other manufacturer. Their radiators feature a high-tech CAB-brazed core construction instead of epoxy (which can leak). All tanks and brackets are TIG welded by hand in the USA. If you plan on owning your BMW for many years to come, or are using it in a situation where failure is NOT an option such as track or racing, then this should be your only option instead of the failure-prone stock radiators.

This radiator fits the following BMWs:
    1995-1999 E36 M3 including coupe, sedan & convertible
    1992-1995 E36 325i & 325is sedan/coupe/convt

The cooling system is one of the major weak points on the N62 engine in the 545i and 645ci. This package covers the water pump, thermostat, and radiator for the 2004-2006 E60 545i and E63 645ci with an automatic transmission.

The entire cooling system on the 545/645 is susceptible to leaks and poor performance.

  • OEM Behr radiator (17117585440)
  • OEM water pump (11517524551)

This cooling overhaul will cover just about everything you could replace on the 535's cooling system. We start with the basic water pump and thermostat bundle. These are already vital to the health and durability of the N54 engine. But to properly maintain these cars for the long term, the rest of the cooling system must be refreshed and preventatively replaced. Here you can add a radiator, expansion tank, 535 cooling hoses, and the BMW antifreeze. This package fits 535 with an automatic transmission.

We recommend a full cooling system overhaul on the E60 535 every 80-90,000 miles and to check for soft/pending codes at every 5,000 mile service .

    Base Cooling Overhaul Package includes:
+ Genuine BMW electric water pump, p/n 11517588885 or 11517632426
+ mounting screws for water pump (set of 3), p/n 11517602123
    + OEM Behr thermostat, p/n 11537549476
+ Original BMW connecting hose from thermostat to water pump, p/n 11537545665
    + OEM-style hose clamps for hose (x 2)

The water pump on the N54 engine has more cooling responsibilities than ever before. Not only must it provide cooling for the engine, but it's also pumping fluid used to cool the turbocharger oil and transmission oil.

  • 17127560968, upper radiator/radiator vent hose
  • 17127565075, lower radiator hose
  • 17127560971, return hose
  • 17127563852, heat exchanger hose

This cooling overhaul will cover just about everything you could replace on the 328's cooling system. We start with the basic water pump and thermostat bundle. These are already vital to the health and durability of the N52 328i. But to properly maintain these cars for the long term, the rest of the cooling system must be refreshed and preventatively replaced. Here you can add a radiator, expansion tank, all of the 328 cooling hoses, and the BMW antifreeze. This package fits 328i/328xi with N52 engine and automatic transmission.

    Includes:
+ Genuine BMW electric water pump, p/n 11517586925
+ mounting screws for water pump (set of 3), p/n 11510392553
    + OEM Behr thermostat, p/n 11537549476
+ Original BMW connecting hose from thermostat to water pump, p/n 11537521049
    + OEM-style hose clamps for hose (x 2)

The water pump on the N52 engine has more cooling responsibilities than ever before. The good news is that the pump only works when, and only as much, as it needs to. That means the system can actually stop the pump when it doesn't need to be running. The bad news is that it's now an electrical part, so a failure is usually immediate and with no warning.
In the interests of a thorough overhaul we recommend replacing these 328 water hoses during this job (see diagram):
    • 17127531579, upper radiator hose
    • 17127564478, lower radiator hose
    • 11537613176, water pump to engine
    • 11537534880, gasket for #176 hose
    • 11537545890, thermostat to cylinder head (includes new o-ring)
    • 17117524710, radiator to auto trans cooler
There are other hoses too but they are not often replaced during a radiator swap (radiator vent hose and heater core hose) and they don't see much wear. We offer these as well if you want a complete set (see Additional Items at the bottom of the page).
    Expansion Tank Options
The expansion tank on the 328 is not prone to failures (unlike previous 3-series cars) so a new one is not strictly required.

This high quality Genuine BMW brand expansion tank is used on M54 and N52 engines, and is a common failure item on all E85 Z4's. Be leary of competitors selling this part for less -- is it a Genuine BMW? Probably not.

If you are overhauling your coolant system, now is the time to consider preventative replacing this expansion tank. These are known to go bad, causing a leak which can leave you stranded.

This radiator is the OEM direct replacement for the stock radiator in the 135i, 335i, 335xi, and Z4 35i. Keeping your N54 or N55 at peak performance means including your cooling system in your regular maintenance schedules with the radiator, water pump, and thermostat being the primary components needing replacement. Not only can a failed radiator leave you stranded, but the sophisticated engine electronics will limit engine operability if temperatures reach a certain level. So having an efficient and fully functional cooling system is critical not only for safety but for performance as well. Don't wait until it's too late!

This is the OEM radiator - made by Behr.

This PWR radiator for the E36 325, 328, and M3 is a super-large 55mm core with a larger tank capacity for bulletproof cooling. If you're looking for the most complete and unbeatable radiator solution for your E36, this is the best we have seen. Everyone knows the E36 has an Achilles heal in the cooling system with flimsy radiator necks, plastic materials, unreliable water pumps, and not a lot of capacity for some applications. PWR has addressed some of these issues with the ultimate radiator. The 55mm core is a full 13-17mm thicker than the stock radiator. With minor adjusting during installation, all of the factory shrouds and fans will fit. Having a greater capacity means less saturation time for the cooling fluid which leads to more consistent engine temperatures, reducing wear and tear on other cooling components such as the water pump and thermostat. It's also hugely beneficial when using forced induction where increased underhood temperatures will snowball through the rest of the engine compartment and eventually the cooling system. Don't let your radiator end your race!

Not only is this radiator larger, it's designed with the stresses of motorsports in mind. The cooling vanes use a unique oven brazed bonding technology that will not fatigue and crack like epoxyed construction. We have been more impressed with the fitment and quality of PWR over any other brand currently on the market. Aircraft-grade aluminum is used for the tanks and frame, which are TIG-welded for superior strength. The bottom of this radiator incorporates hangers which can be used to mount the stock Euro oil cooler or the TMS Oil Cooler Kit. We have used this on in-house and customer projects and it is a replacement for the stock E36 radiator, with all of the same hose locations and fittings as the original radiator. It mounts to the car with the original clips on the radiator support and the fan shroud/expansion tank bolts to the radiator (you will need to supply your own hardware as spacing and installing the shroud can be done several different ways). But because this is an extra large version of the stock radiator some manual adjusting and fitment care will be required. Professional installation is not required but may be necessary. Each radiator is pressure-tested during manufacturing. Because of the extra depth required between the radiator and engine, extra care will be needed when installed with forced induction kits, non-stock oil coolers, and lines.

PWR is a world-renowned radiator manufacturer, supplying all forms of motorsport from Formula One (2010 World Champion Sebastian Vettel) to WRC to NASCAR. Our TMS Race Team uses PWR for our cooling needs in the Rolex GT and Continental Sports Car series.

Need a new coolant level sensor too? If your coolant level sender is bad, your on board computer will constantly display a "low coolant" message (unless your coolant is actually low...). Don't short-change your cooling system on the track! This PWR radiator for the E9X M3 has greater surface area and a larger tank capacity for bulletproof cooling. It's been tested extensively and approved by the Turner racing team. The core has more cooling vanes and a larger side tank to allow more cool fluid to circulate through the system. Having a greater capacity means less saturation time for the cooling fluid which leads to more consistent engine temperatures, reducing wear and tear on other cooling components such as the water pump and thermostat. It's also hugely beneficial when using forced induction where increased underhood temperatures will snowball through the rest of the engine compartment and eventually through the cooling system.

Not only is this radiator larger, it's designed with the stresses of motorsports in mind. The cooling vanes use a unique oven brazed bonding technology that will not fatigue and crack like epoxyed construction. Aircraft-grade aluminum is used for the tanks and frame, which are TIG-welded for superior strength. Each radiator is fluid pressure-tested during manufacturing. This radiator replaces the stock M3 radiator but is designed for track-only cars. This is the racing version that maximizes the available frontal area of the M3, therefore does not allow the use of the stock A/C condenser. Professional installation required to modify the stock hangers and correctly route oil lines. Extra care will be needed when installed with forced induction kits.

This radiator is the OE BMW replacement for the stock radiator in the E60 545i and E65 B7 Alpina. Keeping your BMW at peak performance means including your cooling system in your regular maintenance schedules with the radiator, water pump, and thermostat being the primary components needing replacement. Not only can a failed radiator leave you stranded, but the sophisticated engine electronics will limit engine operability if temperatures reach a certain level. So having an efficient and fully functional cooling system is critical not only for safety but for performance as well. Don't wait until it's too late!

This is a compete cooling system overhaul kit, which includes all of the common Z3 cooling system failure parts bundled into a complete package.

The Z3 cooling system's primary cooling components are prone to failure within 100k miles (or less in certain cases). Our kit includes one radiator, OE BMW water pump (with composite impeller and O-ring), OEM thermostat and housing (complete with sensor and gasket), radiator cap, expansion tank, and new hoses (as pictured).

Optional items (which can be added below):
    - Upgrade the waterpump to a Stewart/EMP High Performance pump
    - Original BMW antifreeze
    - Aluminum water pump pulley (stock plastic ones are known to crack)
    - Cooling fan clutch

This cooling overhaul will cover just about everything you could replace on the 325/330's cooling system. We start with the basic water pump and thermostat bundle. These are already vital to the health and durability of the N52 325/330i. But to properly maintain these cars for the long term, the rest of the cooling system must be refreshed and preventatively replaced. Here you can add a radiator, expansion tank, all of the 325/330 cooling hoses, and the BMW antifreeze. This package fits 325i/330i/xi with N52 engine and automatic transmission.

In the interests of a thorough overhaul we recommend replacing these 325/330 water hoses during this job (see diagram):
    • 17127531579, upper radiator hose
    • 17127531581, lower radiator hose
    • 11537613176, water pump to engine
    • 11537534880, gasket for #176 hose
    • 11537545890, thermostat to cylinder head (includes new o-ring)
    • 17117524710, radiator to auto trans cooler
There are other hoses too but they are not often replaced during a radiator swap (radiator vent hose and heater core hose) and they don't see much wear. We offer these as well if you want a complete set (see Additional Items at the bottom of the page).
    Expansion Tank Options
The expansion tank on the 325/330 is not prone to failures (unlike previous 3-series cars) so a new one is not strictly required.
    Coolant Temp Sensors
There are two coolant temp sensors on the E90 325/330 - in the lower radiator hose and in the cylinder head.

This cooling package fits the following BMWs with the N52 engine and an auto transmission:
    2006-2006 E90 BMW 325i 325xi 330i 330xi - Sedan
    2006-2006 E91 BMW 325xi - Wagon

Note: not for cars that have the dealer-installed auxiliary heating option. Some of the hoses are different with that option. It's not a very common option in North America (except in parts of Canada) but there are hoses that are specific to that option.

The cooling system is one of the major weak points on the N62 engine in the 550i/650i. The water pump itself won't last more than 100,000 miles in most cases and the engine itself is prone to coolant leaks from multiple locations. So a major 550i cooling system overhaul should be planned before the 100,000 mile mark. Aside from obvious leaks the 550i water pump will also squeal or screech indicating the bearings inside have worn. This package covers the water pump, thermostat, and radiator for the 2006-2010 E60 550i and E63 650i with an automatic transmission.

The entire cooling system on the 550i is susceptible to leaks and poor performance.

This is a compete cooling system overhaul kit, which includes all the common cooling system failure parts bundled into a complete package. This cooling system package is for the 2008-2010 E60 528i/528xi models with a manual transmission (N52 engine). The radiator is specific to manual transmission models.

Our overhaul package is offered with an OEM Behr radiator, an Original BMW water pump, OEM Behr thermostat, expansion tank, cap, and new radiator hoses.

Our base kit comes with the OEM Behr radiator, OEM Behr thermostat, Original BMW electric water pump with mounting screws, and the u-shaped hose between the pump and thermostat. From there you can add additional items to complete the overhaul.

Part of any cooling system overhaul on the 540i or 740i/iL should include a service for the automatic transmission heat exchanger (cooler). This block takes coolant from the radiator and uses it to cool the oil for the transmission. A blocked or faulty transmission cooler can lead to major transmission faults, harder or hesitating shifts, or even complete transmission failure. We recommend getting 2 new o-rings while replacing the the heat exchanger. il As part of every cooling system service we recommend cleaning or replacing the heat exchanger itself and the replacement of the hoses leading to it (see separate product).

This high quality Genuine BMW expansion tank is used on the S85 V10 engines, and is a common failure item. Be leary of competitors selling this part for less -- is it a Genuine BMW? Probably not. We only carry the Genuine BMW brand expansion tank as it is the only one we use in our own BMWs. If you are overhauling your coolant system, now is the time to consider preventative replacing this expansion tank. While replacing the expansion tank we recommend replacing the level sensor (sold below) as these are also common failure items.

This is a compete cooling system overhaul kit, which includes all of the common E36 cooling system parts bundled into a complete package. The basic overhaul includes: water pump, radiator, radiator hoses, and thermostat. We bundled these together with a package discount for your convenience and savings. Additional items are also available to better cover your cooling system repair. Contact us if you need any other E36 cooling system parts.

The original E36's primary cooling components were prone to failure within 60k miles (or less in many cases). With better materials over the years we've seen that interval increase and you can now count on your water pump and radiator lasting at least 100,000 miles. That doesn't mean you can set aside preventaive maintenance.

    Top Turner Tip!
The very earliest E36s had infamous cooling system failures. But those are a thing of the past! We've got the best combination of parts to ensure a bulletproof E36 cooling system and it doesn't have to cost an arm and a leg. Our basic cooling package (OEM radiator and OE BMW water pump with composite impeller) is much better quality than what was available 20 years ago. And we can upgrade the system with full aluminum radiators, silicone hoses, and a stronger water pump. There are no more excuses for a weak E36 cooling system.

    Basic Kit Contents:
    17111469179, radiator (OEM Behr)
    11517527799, water pump (OE BMW)
    11537511580, 88°C thermostat (OEM Behr/Hella)
11531708499, upper radiator hose (OEM Rein/CRP)
11531726344, lower radiator hose (OEM Rein/CRP)
17111742231, expansion tank cap (OEM Behr/Hella)

    E36 Radiators
The stock radiator and fan combination has no downside in capacity. But where it lacks is in durability. The plastic tanks and hose necks are prone to cracking and then leaking. If you notice ANY greenish-white staining on the plastic then it's a sure sign of a crack. To avoid the plastic failures altogether, move up to a full aluminum radiator.

The MZ3 radiator has a thicker core and more capacity. Any time you can store the coolant away from the engine the better it will be. It will have less heat soak and lower overall temperatures.
The budget aluminum radiator is the same size as stock but obviously doesn't have the plastic.
The Fluidyne was designed with input from our own techs and race team. It's our go-to radiator for racing and track use.
    E36 Expansion Tank
The original expansion tank is prone to cracks and leakage. Again - it's made from a weak plastic. The material has improved over the years but the only option remains an OEM plastic tank. It's a good idea to replace it if you're doing a whole overhaul. Don't re-use the original tank if you're going to the trouble of replacing everything else!
    E36 Thermostat Housing
The original BMW plastic thermostat housing is brittle and does not seal well. We only sell it under protest. Instead we've been selling this aluminum housing for the last 20+ years. The aluminum does not have the same shortcomings as the plastic one. We made this item an option in case you already have the aluminum housing.

Use the options below to build your cooling package.

Here you can add a radiator, expansion tank, cooling hoses, and the BMW antifreeze. This package fits 328i/328xi with N52 engine and manual transmission.

In the interests of a thorough overhaul we recommend replacing these 328 water hoses during this job (see diagram):
    • 17127531579, upper radiator hose (A)
    • 17127564478, lower radiator hose (B)
    • 11537552396, water pump to engine ©
    • 11537545890, thermostat to cylinder head (includes new o-ring) (D)
There are other hoses too but they are not often replaced during a radiator swap (radiator vent hose and heater core hose) and they don't see much wear. We offer these as well if you want a complete set (see Additional Items at the bottom of the page).
    Expansion Tank Options
The expansion tank on the 328 is not prone to failures (unlike previous 3-series cars) so a new one is not strictly required.

This coolant reservoir is for the non-M E46 3-series models from 1999-2006 (M3 takes a different expansion tank). This is the most recent expansion tank design from Hella-Behr, the OEM supplier to BMW. It replaces the original BMW part number 17137787039.

Other items to consider replacing at the same time are the radiator cap, coolant level sensor, lower radiator hose, coolant temp sensor in the lower hose, and the hose clamps. If your car has an automatic transmission you should also replace the oil cooler thermostat in the radiator frame, which is a common source for leaks.

This overhaul package for the E60 M5 and E63 M6 is a customizable package to replace all of the major components in the cooling system. The M5/M6 cooling system consists of the water pump, thermostat, radiator, hoses, and expansion tank. As far as BMW cooling systems go the M5/M6 one is pretty good and should last 80-100,000 miles. The weak link seems to be the thermostat which may go sooner but can be replaced on its own.

We offer this package with a lot of options for what to include. You can replace as much or as little of the cooling system as you need to. For instance, you may want to replace the water pump and thermostat but not do the radiator. Or just the radiator and hoses. If it were our own M5 we check for play in the water pump bearings (up and down motion) and inspect the radiator for damage. But we're not going to force you to buy parts that you don't need to get you to spend more money. And we have offered some tips our part descriptions below. Check the parts in the Options below that you want to include.

    M5/M6 Radiator
Since the M5/M6 radiator is all aluminum you don't have issues with the plastic end tanks like on other BMW models. And it's pretty well protected in the engine compartment with several other coolers in front of it. The radiator has to come out if you're replacing the water pump. Check for leaks and clear any debris from the vanes. Use caution though because even aluminum will corrode over time and a stiff brush or debris might find a weak spot. Also, the M5/M6 radiator is divided into two sections, one for each bank of cylinders. There are two drains marked with red knobs so if you're flushing the system make sure you drain both sections.
    M5/M6 Hoses
See the diagram to the right for a layout of the hoses. There are upper and lower hoses for each bank. The hoses have a plastic end connector with a spring clip instead of a hose clamp. This fitting is pretty good but old spring clips don't have the tension of new clips. This can lead to leaks later on. New hoses are not strictly necessary and if one does spring a leak later you can always replace just that one hose.

We do need to mention the coolant temp sensor on the bank 1 lower hose. This temp sensor does not seal very well so if you get a new hose also get a new sensor (and vice versa).
    M5/M6 Expansion Tank
This is not a known weak point on the M5/M6 but it is in other BMW models. The plastic can split along existing seams or become warped from engine bay heat. If it does leak it will be from the coolant level sensor on the bottom. Replacing the sensor will not help as the plastic has most likely deformed. The Behr expansion tanks we sell come with a new level sensor.

We recommend a new expansion tank cap. The cap is designed to control the system pressure and be the weak point in the pressure system and it should be replaced ever few years.
    M5/M6 Water Pump
The M5/M6 water pump lasts a very long time. It's not uncommon for them to last over 100,000 miles but planning a preventative replacement will save you a lot of hassle later on. Time the water pump replacement with the thermostat replacements. It's the bearings inside that typically wear first and coolant will dribble out. The biggest issue is access to the pump. It's at the front of the engine but at the bottom of the "V" with the thermostat on top. All of the belts and at least one idler pulley have to come off the front and the radiator and fan have to come out. So if you're replacing the water pump then it would be a good idea to replace the radiator and the hoses too. Consider a water pump job to be an all-encompassing project.
    M5/M6 Thermostat
If there's one weak spot on the M5/M6 cooling system it's the thermostat. In most cases they will last 80,000+ miles and will go to a planned cooling overhaul with the water pump. But we have seen some that failed before that or showed signs of a coming failure. Telltale signs will give you some warning of an impending failure - low coolant temp on the gauge, fault codes for coolant flow and even emissions-related faults related to coolant temp. The thermostat is relatively easy to replace - it's in a housing on top of the water pump at the front of the engine. You have to remove the airboxes and at least one of the intake plenums but it's all done from on top. There are a few o-rings and seals to replace at the same time.

This item fits the following BMWs:
    2006-2010 E60 BMW M5
    2006-2011 E63 E64 BMW M6

This cooling overhaul will cover just about everything you could replace on the 328 SULEV's cooling system. We start with the basic water pump and thermostat bundle. These are already vital to the health and durability of the N51 328 SULEV. But to properly maintain these cars for the long term, the rest of the cooling system must be refreshed and preventatively replaced. Here you can add a radiator, expansion tank, cooling hoses, and the BMW antifreeze. This package fits 128/328 SULEV with N51 engine and manual transmission.

    Coolant Hoses
With regular driving the hoses should last a very long time. Even the plastic connectors seem to be holding up well. But as a preventative measure new hoses are recommended. We have also seen issues with re-using hoses as the spring connectors get weak over time and may not have the strength to hold the hose in place. They seem to have a tough time holding tension especially when they have been removed and reinstalled. In the interests of a thorough overhaul we recommend replacing these 328 SULEV water hoses during this job (see diagram):
    • 17127531579, upper radiator hose (A)
    • 17127531581, lower radiator hose (B)
    • 11537552396, water pump to engine ©
    • 11537545890, thermostat to cylinder head (includes new o-ring) (D)
There are other hoses too but they are not often replaced during a radiator swap (radiator vent hose and heater core hose) and they don't see much wear. We offer these as well if you want a complete set (see Additional Items at the bottom of the page).
    Expansion Tank Options
The expansion tank on the 328 SULEV is not prone to failures (unlike previous 3-series cars) so a new one is not strictly required.

The 42mm PWR Euro E36 radiator fits the Euro E36 M3 models as well as US-spec E36 325, 328, and M3s. This radiator has a core that is 4mm larger than the stock Behr radiator. If you're looking for a radiator with more cooling capacity and a provision for the stock Euro oil cooler, this is the one. Everyone knows the E36 has an Achilles heal in the cooling system with flimsy radiator necks, plastic materials, unreliable water pumps, and not a lot of capacity for some applications. PWR has addressed some of these issues with a slightly thicker radiator, able to hold more fluid. Increasing the amount of fluid in the system leads to shorter saturation times (the length of time the cooling fluid is exposed to engine heat) which will give you more consistent engine temperatures, reducing wear and tear on other cooling components such as the water pump and thermostat. This is great as a durable replacement radiator for a street car or as an upgrade for a track car. For super-serious cooling capacity check out our PWR 55mm radiator, however, if you don't need the additional capacity we recommend the 42mm unit because of its lighter weight (both in the radiator itself and carrying less fluid).

Not only is this radiator larger, it's designed with the stresses of motorsports in mind. The cooling vanes use a unique oven-brazed bonding technology that will not fatigue and crack like epoxyed construction. We have been more impressed with the fitment and quality of PWR over any other brand currently on the market. Aircraft-grade aluminum is used for the tanks and frame, which are TIG-welded for superior strength. We like this radiator a lot for dual-purpose track/street cars because it does not intrude too much into the engine bay and it's a direct fit with the factory Euro oil cooler and factory mounting hanger (note: not TMS oil cooler hardware). The factory Euro oil cooler hanger will have to be used if you're using the factory oil cooler (we sell the hanger alone if you need it). That makes this radiator a plug-in upgrade for true Euro-spec cars. With or without an oil cooler, this radiator is a direct replacement for the stock E36 radiator, with all of the same hose locations and fittings as the original radiator. It mounts to the car with the original clips on the radiator support and the fan shroud/expansion tank bolts to the radiator (you will need to supply your own M6 and M8 hardware as spacing and installing the shroud can be done several different ways). Each radiator is pressure-tested during manufacturing.

This is the sensor / sending unit that notifies the computer if your coolant level is low. When this fails, it can give a false indication of low coolant -- or worse, not inform you of a low coolant situation which could potential cause overheating. (Note: This sensor is also found in the windshield washer container, to alert the computer when you are low on washer fluid)

This sensor also serves as the washer fluid level sensor on many models.

    • +25% capacity
    • Triple-row core (vs double row)
    • Better cooling without increasing overall dimensions
    • All-aluminum construction

This is the new E46 M3 aluminum radiator that we collaborated with FLUIDYNE on. We're taking advantage of FLUIDYNE's new core design that packs much more surface area in a stock-sized core. Instead of the usual two rows of tubes, FLUIDYNE's all-aluminum radiator has three rows of tubes in a core no thicker than the stock radiator. This radiator also has 30% more rows than the stock radiator (55 vs 42). With greater surface area and more efficient use of air flow comes better cooling, especially in the most critical spot where the fins meet the tubes, as this is where most of the heat transfer happens. Where most other aluminum radiators use a thicker core, FLUIDYNE's new packaging solution performs better and fits better in the engine bay with better clearance to other components. A second benefit with this new core is that it minimizes added weight gain, helping to get the car as light - and as fast - as possible.

Our goal was to make this as close to a "drop-in" replacement as possible. FLUIDYNE made this easy as this core is no larger than the stock radiator even though it has more capacity. We also had hangers designed to accommodate the factory oil cooler and fan shroud. There has never been a better E46 M3 radiator upgrade than this! For an E46 M3 track or modded street car there should be no reason to ever go back to a stock plastic radiator or compromise on a cheap aluminum radiator.

This radiator coolant reservoir / expansion tank for E46 M3 is a common failure item as the plastic weakens over time and stress crack will lead to coolant leaks. If your car has over 80k miles and hasn't had one of these replaced, we highly recommend it during your next major service. We have found that the aftermarket coolant reservoirs fail easier than the original BMW piece so we only offer the BMW type on this part.

This package covers the water pump, thermostat, and radiator for the 2006-2010 E60 550i and E63 650i with a manual transmission.

The entire cooling system on the 550i is susceptible to leaks and poor performance.

    Base 550i/650i Cooling Package includes:
  • OEM Behr radiator (17117519210)
  • OEM water pump (11517586779)
  • water pump pipe (back of pump to engine block) (11511439976)
  • OEM thermostat (11537586885)

As most 335 owners have discovered, the cooling system is vital to maintaining high levels of boost. The car's sophisticated electronics wisely shut down and limit boost when temperatures are elevated enough to do potential harm. Don't short-change your cooling system or performance on the street or the track! Where the stock radiator suffers is in capacity, which is why BMW also sells an additional radiator and other cooling upgrades with their Performance packages. This PWR radiator for the E90/E92 335 and E82 135 is a larger 42mm core (4mm thicker than stock) for additional capacity and bulletproof cooling. It fits in the stock location, with the stock shroud and fan (some plastic trimming may be necessary), maximizing the available space to dedicate to fluid capacity and surface area. Having a greater capacity means less saturation time for the cooling fluid which leads to more consistent engine temperatures, reducing the possibility of limp mode condition and reducing wear and tear on other cooling components such as the water pump and thermostat. If you're looking for the most complete and unbeatable radiator solution for your E9X, this is the best we have seen.

This radiator is a direct replacement for the stock E9X radiator, with all of the same hose locations and fittings as the original radiator. Each radiator is pressure-tested during manufacturing. Because of the extra depth required between the radiator and engine, extra care will be needed when installed with non-stock intercooler and intake piping and oil coolers.

This aluminum radiator is a replacement for the stock BMW radiator 17 11 7 558 480 and fits the 135i and 335i/xi (manual transmission only).

This is a customizable cooling system overhaul kit, which starts off with the basic radiator and water pump and can be configured to replace all the M54 common cooling system failure parts in one package. This cooling system package is for the 2003-2005 Z4 Roadster.

The Z4 cooling system is much like that of the sister 3 series. Available with our kit is an OEM Behr radiator, an Original BMW water pump (with updated composite impeller), thermostat (complete with housing), radiator cap, new hoses, and other essential cooling parts.

Optional items (which can be added below):
  • Radiator cap
  • Major cooling hoses
  • Original BMW antifreeze
  • Upgrade the water pump to a Stewart EMP High Performance pump
  • Add a new coolant expansion tank (known for cracking)
  • Include a new coolant level sensor (known for failing / throwing "check coolant" messages)
  • Include a new coolant temp sensor (located in the lower radiator hose) (re-using the old sensor and seal may lead to a leak)
  • Add a new thermostat for an automatic transmission (located with the expansion tank).
This cooling system overhaul kit fits the following BMWs:
    2003-2005 E85 BMW Z4 2.5i Z4 3.0i

This Genuine BMW coolant reservoir is for the E28 M5 and 524td.

This is the radiator drain plug (petcock valve) for manual transmission E82 and E9X models. The plug actually has two drains built in - the traditional blue petcock valve which is part of the hex head. If you drain the coolant from your radiator through this plug you could be in for a nasty surprise. The hex plug has tabs that lock it into position in the factory BMW radiator. Once it's installed the tabs lock in place. But if you remove the hex completely, the tabs snap off and the plug will no longer seal correctly! Do not drain your coolant without having one of these on hand as a spare! It's cheap insurance against a definite leak later on.

    Fits manual transmission only.

Note: the Behr OEM radiator that we sell does not use this same drain plug. It has it's own drain plug that does not use the tabs. You won't need the factory BMW drain plug ever again.

We have tried this radiator in some of our E36 track cars and it fits just like the stock OEM with all of the accessories and shrouds fitting just like the original. It's slightly thicker but has the same surface area as the original radiator. There won't be any significant change in coolant volume and we don't expect it to lower coolant temps. But if you're installing the OEM plastic version over and over this may be the perfect alternative at a low cost. This is great for someone who was using the plastic radiator with an oil cooler but couldn't find a low cost aluminum version that would work with the oil cooler.

Note: this radiator does come with the tabs on the bottom for mounting the factory Euro oil cooler. Our Euro Oil Cooler Mouting Brackets are still required to finish the install.

Replace the flimsy plastic bleeder screw used in the coolant expansion tank or in one of the cooling system hoses with this high quality, durable, aluminum bleeder screw. The stock plastic screw can deform over time due to heat or even regular use. We have even seen the head of the screw snap off, leaving the threaded body stuck in the expansion tank. This aluminum screw will help to prevent sudden failure of the bleeder screw, which can result in immediate overheating of the car.

This radiator is the OE BMW replacement for the stock radiator in the E60 545i and E63 645ci and E65 745i.

This is a compete cooling system overhaul kit, which includes all the common cooling system failure parts bundled into a complete package. This cooling system package is for the 2008-2010 E60 528i/528xi models with an automatic transmission (N52 engine).

E60 528i Automatic Radiator Options.

E60 528i Cooling Hoses.

This package fits 535 with a manual transmission.

  • 17127560968, upper radiator/radiator vent hose
  • 17127565075, lower radiator hose
  • 17127560973, return hose

This high quality BEHR brand expansion tank is used on MINI Cooper R50 R52, and is a common failure item. BEHR was the original equipment supplier to BMW, so you know the BEHR made expansion tank will be the highest quality available. Be cautious of competitors selling this part for less -- is it a BEHR? Probably not. We only carry the BEHR brand expansion tank as it is the only one we use in our own MINIs. If you are overhauling your coolant system, now is the time to consider preventative replacing this expansion tank. These are known to go bad, causing a leak which can leave you stranded.

This item fits the following MINIs:
    2002-2006 R50 MINI MINI Cooper
2005-2008 R52 MINI MINI Cooper Convertible.
