Over time the leather on the manual shift boots can crack causing you to have to replace the shift boot. To do this, you will need to retain the boot ring that holds the leather or cloth. Unfortunately, these also tend to crack over time and BMW does not make replacements. Because of this, Race German has developed their own boot rings that are CAD designed and 3D printed from high temperature PETG to make sure it does not warp in the hot sun.
