TURNER BMW PULLS OFF DOMINANT WIN AT CANADIAN TIRE MOTORSPORT PARK.

Amesbury, MA. -- July 7th, 2019 -- Following Robby Foley’s impressive pole position in qualifying on Saturday, the Turner Motorsport BMW M6 GT3 of Bill Auberlen and Robby Foley pulled off a dominant win at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park to mark the first win for the team this season.

The No. 96 BMW started from the front row of the GTD field on the 2.459-mile 10-turn road course in Bowmanville, Ontario Canada in round six of the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship to hold off the hard charging competition for the entire two-hour and forty-five minute race.

The big win comes after a well-deserved second place finish at Watkins Glen International last weekend to end a long string of tough luck for the team.

Drivers Bill Auberlen and Robby Foley put together two flawless stints to string together a near perfect performance from the front and maintain the lead the entire race. The flawless driving combined with lightning fast pit stops allowed the blue and yellow to cross the finish line out front.

“There is just so much to say here,” said Robby Foley. “I clinched my first career pole in the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship this weekend and converted it into my first career win in IMSA as well. The Turner Motorsport team has been amazing this season and their extremely hard work finally paid off today.”

The win marks Turner Motorsport’s twentieth consecutive season with a professional race win and Bill Auberlen’s 59th career win behind the wheel of a BMW.

“This win came at just the right time for all of us at Turner Motorsport,” said Bill Auberlen. “It feels amazing to get this win after working so hard to get to the top step of the podium. I can’t say enough about all the guys at Turner Motorsport and of course my co-driver Robby Foley.”

The blue and yellow BMW lead 92 of the total 94 laps to finish just .703 seconds ahead of the No. 86 Acura.

“We are beyond excited for this win, it feels so good to pull this off,” said Will Turner. “I’m so happy for our entire team who have worked so hard over the last year since our last win at Watkins Glen last season. We have had a good deal of tough luck and adversity but we kept our heads up and found some rhythm to clinch a second and a first place back-to- back.”

"What a win for the entire team, we are certainly due," said Jay Baier Director of Marketing. "It wouldn't be possible without all the amazing sponsors and partners we have. They pull through every single weekend to support our entire team. A big thank you to Liqui Moly, H&R Springs, Sachs Performance, Pagid Brakes, Hengst Filter, LMC Industrial Contractors, Sonax, Ohlins, Barletta Corp. and Hilliard. It's a great win for everyone."

With winning momentum, the team now focuses attention on their home race at Lime Rock Park on July 19th and 20th.
