TURNER BMW REVERTS BACK TO LIQUI MOLY BRANDED RED, WHITE AND BLUE LIVERY FOR LAGUNA SECA.
Amesbury, MA. -- September 11th, 2019 -- The No. 96 Liqui Moly liveried BMW of Turner Motorsport heads West for round ten of the 2019 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship to compete on the 2.238-mile 11-corner road course in Salinas, California.
As the team did last season, the Turner BMW M6 GT3 will revert to the white, red and blue LIQUI Moly livery for the final two races of the season of the season to feature the German lubricant and additive brand.
LIQUI MOLY offers a complete range of more than 4000 products globally, primarily engine oils for BMWs and other German manufacturers. In addition they produce additives, greases, pastes, sprays, car care and sealants for almost all vehicles including both race application and everyday street cars. Since 1957, all LIQUI Moly products are designed and produced in Germany.

For this weekend’s event, drivers Bill Auberlen and Robby Foley will return to action for the first time since the previous round at Virginia International Raceway.
The Turner Motorsport BMWs have experienced success at Laguna Seca in the past several years with a top-five finish in 2017, fourth place finish in 2016, a win in 2014 and a second place finish in 2013.
Last year, the duo of Auberlen and Foley suffered significant damage early in the race during a restart which caused the car to retire early.
“This season has been a roller coaster,” said Robby Foley. “We had a couple tough races in the beginning of the year but we rebounded and have been able to put together a string of solid results to put us third in the championship going into this weekend. We plan to shake off the tough race at VIR last month and focus on the two remaining opportunities to capture points and hopefully a podium or two.”
Auberlen returns to WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca just weeks after competing in the Monterey Car Week Historic races with the BMW V12 LMR winning one of the two races.
Auberlen commented, “We had a tough break at VIRginia International Raceway last month which was quite unfortunate for us in the points championship and the race itself. As we have continued to say all season, we have been able to improve on our car and our program each and every race so there is no reason why our BMW can’t be super competitive this weekend at Laguna.”
On track action for the Monterey Sportscar Championship Powered by McLaren (Remove) will begin Friday at 1:55pm ET. Qualifying will take the green flag at 3:40pm ET on Saturday followed by the race on Sunday at 3:05pm ET.
