TURNER MOTORSPORT SET FOR BIG START TO 2020 AT DAYTONA WITH THREE BWMs. FLAG TO FLAG COVERAGE ALL WEEKEND.

Amesbury, MA. -- January 20th, 2020 -- Seven Time championship winning Turner Motorsport descends on Daytona Beach, Florida with just days until the 2020 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge seasons begin.

With driver lineups confirmed, crew in place and sponsors signed, the newly expanded Turner Motorsport team is geared up to compete in the 58th running of the Rolex 24 At Daytona as well as the BMW Endurance Challenge At Daytona.

The red, white and blue Liqui Moly liveried BMW M6 GT3 is set to take the green flag for the Rolex 24 At Daytona with drivers Bill Auberlen, Robby Foley, Dillon Machavern and Jens Klingmann. The superstar GTD lineup returns for the second consecutive year to challenge the ultra-competitive 18 entry field around the 3.56-mile, 12-turn road course.

Both Foley and Machavern are set to make their second appearances in the Rolex 24 At Daytona in the Turner BMW alongside veteran BMW aces, Klingmann and Auberlen. Klingmann is returning for a fifth consecutive Rolex 24 while the 2020 Rolex 24 will mark Auberlen’s 31st start for the race.

Driver lineups will include Connor Bloum in the No. 95 BMW and Robby Foley , Vin Barletta and Bill Auberlen in the No. 96 BMW. Friday’s IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge race will mark the Turner Motorsport debut for Straus and Bloum in the BMW M4 GT4. In the sister car, Barletta and Foley return after competing in a bulk of the GS class races last season.

This race at Daytona will mark the first year since 2013 that the team will field two GS entries in blue and yellow. 2013 marks the year Auberlen was able to capture two double wins driving both the Turner GT and GS cars in the same days. Auberlen clinched the GS championship in 2011 in a Turner BMW M3.

In addition to the expanded program and star-studded driver lineup, Turner Motorsport welcomes back H&R Springs, LIQUI MOLY, Hilliard, Pagid, Sachs, Hengst and Ohlins, making up a solid foundation of partners.

The on-track action will begin on Thursday January 23rd with practice for both the GS class entries as well as the GTD class. Stay tuned and visit IMSA.com for all the up to date timing and scoring as well as live feeds. Turner Motorsport social will also be following the action via Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

The BMW Endurance Challenge At Daytona for the Michelin Pilot Challenge series is scheduled to take the green flag on Friday at 1:10pm ET.

This year's race features 16.5 broadcast hours on the NBC network and NBCSN. NBC network coverage begins Saturday, Jan. 25, at 1:30 p.m. ET with the first hour of the race. The network will also cover the race's dramatic final two hours on Sunday, Jan. 26 at 12 p.m. ET. NBCSN provides 13.5 hours of coverage starting on Saturday from 2:30-6:00 p.m. and continuing from 11 p.m. – 3 a.m. and then 6 a.m. – 12 p.m. on Sunday.

TrackPass on NBC Sports Gold will carry the majority of the coverage with 28.5 hours. That starts on Friday, Jan. 24 with four hours of exclusive live start-to-finish coverage of the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge's BMW Endurance Challenge beginning at 1 p.m. ET. The platform will also stream all 24.5 hours of NBC's coverage of the Rolex 24. Fans can visit nbcsports.com/gold/trackpass to order the year-long package.

Comments:

Will Turner
“I am excited to get the 2020 season started. This is my 22nd year of professional sports car racing and we are approaching 400 pro races with BMW , the butterflies never seem to go away till the green flag drops…... it never gets old. “

Bill Auberlen
“Looking forward to get this 2020 season rolling. It was a solid season last year that I think we can really build from. Our BMW has proven to be very reliable and competitive so it should allow us to be there in the end of the Rolex 24 and hopefully record a podium finish. I will be chasing that number 61 so I know ill be doing everything I can do make it happen!”

Jens Klingmann
“Starting off the 2020 season with a highlight! The Rolex 24 of Daytona is one of the most iconic races on this planet and every year one of my personal favorites. I’m very happy to join Turner Motorsport once again to fight for the win in GTD class and to chase the iconic Rolex Daytona watch. I enjoy racing in the US a lot and it’s been a long wait for me after last year’s Daytona 24h race. Our BMW M6 GTD has shown great reliability in the last endurance races so I hope we can put ourself in a good position for the last couple of hours to fight for the victory.”

Robby Foley
"Excited to head back to Daytona to contest my third Rolex 24. The race is always challenging with so many variables thrown at you for 24 hours, but with the same lineup as last year I'm confident we're up for the challenge. Vin Bill and I will also be running the M4 GT4 in GS and after our near podium at Watkins Glen last year, we're excited to contest another 4 hour Michelin Pilot Challenge race."

Dillon Machavern
"2020 is going to be our year. We have all the ingridients to put together a solid race and carry some of that winning momentum from 2019 into this year. I’m looking to stay concentrated on my part and rely on my solid team mates to bring the rest together and hope we are leading at the end.”

Connor Bloum
“After 3 years out of IMSA I’m extremely excited to get back out at Daytona! My last appearance here in the ST class I was able to qualify on pole co-driving alongside Aurora. To be making my comeback with such an accomplished team like Turner in the GT4 class is an incredible opportunity! I’m very thankful and know we’ll have the best chance of winning with so many great people involved!”
