TURNER BMWs DESCEND ON SEBRING INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY WITH THREE BMWs IN TOW
Amesbury, MA. -- July 16th, 2020--Turner Motorsport heads to Sebring International for the third round of the 2020 Weathertech SportsCar Championship.
Auberlen and Foley will be back behind the wheel of their red, white, and blue BMW M6 GT3 following their strong start and eighth place finish at Daytona for the IMSA WeatherTech 240 just two weeks ago.
The quest continues for Bill Auberlen to chase down the all-time record of North American sports car wins with just one more win needed to break the tie with Scott Pruett. Auberlen will be pushing to record the 61st win after claiming number 60 at Petit Le Mans last October.
“I always look forward to getting behind the wheel of a Turner BMW,” said Bill Auberlen. “That is even more true now with only one more win to break the tie for the record of North American sports car wins. Turner always shows up to the track prepared and ready to go up against the fiercest of competition. I am looking forward to getting out on track at Sebring to dial in our BMW.”
Auberlen is not the only one with a lot on the line this weekend at Sebring. Robby Foley will be doing triple duty between all three Turner BMWs on track this weekend. Foley will not only be driving the GTD M6 GT3 with Auberlen, he will also be making appearances in both of the Turner GS class M4 GT4s as well.
On Friday, Foley will make his start in the No. 95 BMW M4 before handing the car over to Bill Auberlen to finish. Foley will then jump into the No. 96 BMW M4 to finish the race after starting driver Vin Barletta pits.
“This is looking like a big weekend,” said Robby Foley. “I am definitely going to make up a lot of the seat time this weekend. I was talking to Will and he mentioned that I might even be able to finish ahead of myself in the GS race which is crazy to think about. I am going to have to make sure to stick to the regimented Turner taco only diet this weekend.”
With all three Turner BMWs racing over the course of 2 days, the weekend proves to be a big undertaking for the team.
“We are looking forward to finally getting to Sebring!” added Will Turner. “Our cars always seem to perform well here, so we are hopeful that will be the case this weekend.”
Both the Advent Health 120 GS race, and the Cadillac Grand Prix of Sebring GT race, will be televised this weekend starting with the Advent Health 120 Friday July 17th at 2:30pm ET on NBC’s streaming service , TrackPass. The Cadillac Grand Prix of Sebring will be live on NBC Sport Network (NBCSN) Saturday July 18th at 5:30pm.
