The Blue and Yellow Team prepare for a Blue and Yellow Weekend at the Michelin GT Challenge at VIR
Amesbury, MA. -- August 20th, 2020-- Bill Auberlen and Robby Foley are back the #96 BMW M6 GT3 this weekend at the Michelin GT Challenge at VIR for the 5th round of the 2020 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season. The duo currently sit 9th in overall Championship points, amongst a competitive top-10 field and looks to shorten 15 point deficit off of the class leader. In the WeatherTech Sprint Cup Championship, a separate GTD-only championship, Auberlen and Foley are in 5th place - 23 points off of the lead.
Qualifying for Turner’s GTD entry will be streamed live on IMSA.com on Friday at 5:30 P.M. ET. The green flag for the WeatherTech Championship race will drop on Saturday at 1:55 P.M. and will be streamed LIVE on TrackPass.
No TrackPass? No Problem. The Michelin GT Challenge at VIR will be televised on NBCSN beginning at 10 a.m. ET Sunday morning. Grab your coffee and a breakfast taco and settle in. Yeah, tacos for breakfast – it’s a thing.
IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge - GS #95 & #96
Bill Auberlen and Robby Foley will share the #95 BMW M4 GT4 in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge race on Sunday. They currently sit 12th in Championship points. Foley will qualify and start the race and Auberlen will finish.
In the sister car, Vin Barletta and Robby Foley (who is once again doing TRIPLE duty – don’t worry we feed him well) will be behind the wheel of the #96 BMW M4 GT4. Barletta will qualify and start the race warming up the seat for Foley, who after jumping out of the #95, will finish the race.
Live streaming of IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge (Our M4 GT4 #95 and #96) will be on TrackPass @ 2:50 p.m. ET on Sunday, August 23.
