Victory For Turner Motorsport’s Auberlen and Machavern! Turner Drivers Top IMSA’s GS and GTD Class Points Standings.

Newton, NH. – July 3, 2021 ---

Two consecutive race weeks at Watkins Glen International saw the Turner Motorsport BMW racing cars compete in 4 IMSA sanctioned races.

The results?

First Race (Last week) - A runner-up finish in No. 95 BMW M4 GT4 by Bill Auberlen and Dillon Machavern in the June 26th four-hour IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge GS race.

Second Race (Last week) - A GTD class win in the June 27th Sahlen’s Six Hours Of The Glen by the No. 96 BMW M6 GT3 driven by Bill Auberlen, Robby Foley, and Aidan Read.

Third Race (Yesterday) – Bill and Dillon raced the No. 96 BMW M4 GT4 to the top of the podium in the two-hour GS race. Foley and Vin Barletta finished a strong fifth.

Fourth Race (Yesterday) – Unfortunately, the two-hour-and-forty-minute GTD race did not follow the pattern with the BMW M6 GT3 suffering a thrown power steering belt at the start of the race, a loss of 21 laps for repairs, and a 12th place finish.

So, three-out-of-four ain’t bad, especially if you continue to lead the season long point standings in both the GS and GT Daytona classes!

Championship Points Standings

Auberlen, Foley, Turner Motorsport, and BMW stand at the top of the IWSC GTD endurance race points. Auberlen and Machavern lead the IMPC GS class standings. Foley and Vin Barletta stand third.

The second half of the IMSA season begins at Turner Motorsport’s home track on July 16 with the Northeast Grand Prix at Lime Rock Park, in Lakeville, Conn.
