Turner Motorsport Finishes 16th And Loses Ground in GT Daytona Title Fight.

Saturday’s 100-minute IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship (IWSC) race at Long Beach, Calif. was everything Turner Motorsport did not want. 16th place in class was the final result after the No. 96 Liqui-Moly BMW M6 GT3 found the tire wall (assisted by a competitor) and a damaged ABS sensor wreaked havoc with the BMW’s braking system. 27 points in the lead at the start of the race, Bill Auberlen and Robby Foley are now 150 points back, fourth place in the GT Daytona championship battle.
Will Turner – “There is a lot to forget about from that race, that’s for sure. Time to focus forward and prepare for the Michelin GT Challenge at VIR and Petit Le Mans, two races where we’ve had big wins in recent seasons.”
The battle continues on the Oct. 9 – 10th weekend with the Michelin GT Challenge at VIR at Virginia International Raceway, in Alton, Vir. The two-hour-and-forty-minute race takes the green flag at 12:10 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 9 and will be broadcast on NBC beginning at 12:00 p.m. ET.
