North Carolina Based Taco Connoisseur Teams Up With Dinan and Foley For Turner Motorsport's First Appearance at SRO GT World Challenge Indianapolis 8 Hour.

Oct. 11, 2021 – Newton, NH --- North Carolina Based Taco Connoisseur Teams Up With Dinan and Foley For Turner Motorsport's First Appearance at SRO GT World Challenge Indianapolis 8 Hour. He eats Carnitas and is the 2020 winner of last year’s race.

That’s right, it’s Connor De Phillipi.

BMW of North America driver De Phillippi will join Michael Dinan and Robby Foley in the No. 96 Liqui-Moly/H & R Springs BMW M6 GT3 for this year’s edition of the eight-hour season-ender at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS) on Oct. 17th. CDP, as Connor is known, co-drove to the eight-hour victory last year in a Walkenhorst BMW M6 GT3 with fellow BMW drivers Nicky Catsburg and Augusto Farfus.

Ready to win again, Connor said, “I’m extremely excited to be joining Turner Motorsport for the first time. We have had several productive test days at IMS, and I think we will have a great package to fight for the win. I’ll be doing my best to bring my experience from last year’s victory and the plan will be to certainly achieve the same end result this year!”

Will Turner said, “Up to the races at Sebring we had a relatively uneventful season mechanically. The qualifying crash meant flying in parts from the shop and an all-nighter by the crew. We made Sunday’s race but did not finish. No points scored in either round puts the championship further out of reach, so we are going to Indy to win, without concerning ourselves with points. We have not been to Indy since the Grand Am days and we are looking forward to eight hours there. Strategy will play more of a part than a normal two-race sprint race weekend and that plays to the team’s strengths. We know the BMW M6 is capable of a win because it did so last year – with Connor.”

Robby Foley said, “We started this season with a well-sorted BMW M6, but not a great deal of data on the Pirelli tires. We have worked smart this season and Jay’s (O’Connell) experience has brought us to the point where we are extremely competitive at most tracks. Michael has driven a great first season of GT3 competition. Our win at Road America is the best proof of that.”

Michael Dinan added, “We have made exceptionally good progress this season. My pace has improved, and we are maximizing the BMW M6 on the Pirelli tires. We tested at Indy recently and believe we are ready for the eight-hour. Robby and I raced the SprintX GT4 component of the race there last year and we are all looking forward to full eight hours.”

The Intercontinental GT Challenge Powered by Pirelli Indianapolis 8 Hour takes the green flag at 10:00 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 17th.
