This weekend Turner Motorsport returns to Road America for a second time this month. This time it’s for rounds 9 and 10 of the 2022 Fanatec GT World Challenge America powered by AWS season at the circuit that is a favorite of almost every driver. The bratwurst is pretty good too.
Drivers Michael Dinan and Robby Foley have raced the No. 96 Turner Motorsport LIQUI-MOLY BMW M4 GT3 to PRO class podium finishes in each of the last four rounds; two runner-up finishes at VIRginia International Raceway in June, followed by a third and the duo’s first victory of the 2022 season at Watkins Glen International in July. They currently stand sixth in driver points standings, but, as is said, with a bullet. They have secured 76 of their 122 point total in those last four rounds and are only three points out of fourth place.
All of that spells a bunch of momentum and, if you’ll remember, Turner scored a win at Road America in last year’s round two race. How does the weekend look for another Turner win? Our Magic 8 Ball says, “Signs point to tacos.” We’ll take that as a yes.
Will Turner – “The season has really picked up some steam in the last two events. Michael and Robby have a good grip on the new M4 GT3 and the team has looked great. Like Watkins Glen, Road America’s long sweeping turns are a BMW favorite so we are looking to keep our momentum going and continue to move up in the standings.”
The weekend schedule, live timing and scoring, and session reports are available at gt-world-challenge-america.com. Live race streams are available free on YouTube (GTWorld) and Twitch (SROMotorsports).
