It will be all hands on deck for Turner Motorsport as the BMW racing team closes the 2022 season with a whirlwind three consecutive weekends of competition.
GT World Challenge America, Sebring International Raceway – Michael Dinan and Robby Foley faced Rounds 11 and 12 of the season (Round 12 was not entered because of a prior commitment) at Sebring International Raceway this past weekend to start three consecutive racing weekends for the Taco Warriors. At Sebring, the No. 96 Turner Motorsport LIQUI-MOLY BMW M4 GT3 drivers added a third second-place PRO class finish to their season to the two scored at VIRginia International Raceway earlier in the year. Added to a third and the duo’s first victory of the 2022 season at Watkins Glen International in July the season has shown some very strong results.
Petit Le Mans, Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta – Bill Auberlen, Michael Dinan, and Robby Foley will close out the 2022 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar season in No. 96 Turner Motorsport LIQUI-MOLY BMW M4 GT3 at the 10-hour Petit Le Mans race, at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, on October 1. Season-long drivers Auberlen and Foley currently stand fifth in GTD driver points standings. With Auberlen’s three GT class Petit Le Mans wins (shared with Foley in 2019) part of his 65 all-time IMSA victories chances are good for a great finish the 2022 IMSA campaign. Auberlen and Dillon Machavern, and Vin Barletta and Robby Foley will also close out the Michelin Pilot Challenge season in the Turner BMW M4 GT4 racing cars. Barletta and Foley stand a strong third in driver points. Auberlen and Machavern stand sixth.
GT World Challenge America, Indianapolis Motor Speedway – Round 13 closes out the 2022 GT World Challenge America season with an eight-hour race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course on October 9th. Michael Dinan and Robby Foley will be joined by BMW M team RLL driver John Edwards for the endurance contest.
Will Turner – “The 2022 SRO and IMSA seasons end with a three consecutive weekend rush and more than 20 hours of racing. We will certainly see how it all ends up, but overall I would say we’ve had a very good first season with the new BMW M4 GT3, with wins in both series. Bill and Dillon are always front-runners in the GT4 cars, but it is very gratifying to see the strength of Vin’s season. Vin and Robby are third in points! Last, but not least we welcome John to the team for the Indy 8 Hour. He is obviously very familiar with the BMW M4 GT3 and I know he enjoys a good taco.”
