Turner Motorsport Gives Sebring the Old ZEBRING 1-2

Sebring, Fl. - March 16, 2023

Turner Motorsport gave the new-for-2023 BMW M4 GT4 (G82) racing car its first IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge victory today at Sebring International Raceway in the two-hour Alan Jay Automotive Network 120. In fact, the race went so well the team finished 1-2 overall in the Grand Sport class.

Vin Barletta and Robby Foley scored the win in the No. 96 #ZEBRING split-liveried BMW M4 GT4, with BS+Competition, completing 41 laps of the 3.7-mile, 17-turn circuit in the two-hour race, finishing .601 seconds ahead of the No. 95 Turner Motorsport BMW M4 GT4 of Cameron Lawrence and Robert Megennis.

All-in-all, it was a very good day for Tacos and Zebras.

Will Turner - “It’s every team owners dream to have a 1-2 finish so my excitement is real. After our tough start at Daytona, I think I would have been pleased to finish both cars in the top-10. A 1-2 is a well-deserved result for a fantastic team effort.”

Vin Barletta - “The amount of work and testing that has gone into the 2023 season is immense and this result is incredible. Cameron and Robert have fit right into the team and did a great job today. I am eager to keep moving us forward in the championship.”

Robby Foley - “This was my first win as a contracted BMW driver and it was great to also give the new BMW M4 GT4 its first Michelin Pilot Challenge victory. As Vin has said, this has been a great deal of work but a Turner 1-2 at Sebring feels awesome.”

Cameron Lawrence - “Robert drove a great first stint, but Don (Salama) and the guys on the pit box really got us the 1-2 finish. When I got in I had to get my head around the car’s balance as we had the same tires on the right side of the BMW for the entire race. Once I had that figured out, I was able to go from third to first and back to second, and followed Robby to the checkered flag.”

Robert Megennis - “Today’s race was only my second race with Turner and a second-place finish feels great. It was crazy having to start from the back of the field, but the BMW was on rails. I have learned that you listen to Don (Salama) and you do what he says. Honestly, the team did a great job executing today.”

The 12 Hours of Sebring weekend focus shifts to Saturday’s big race with qualifying tomorrow and the green flag at 10:10 a.m. Saturday for the LIQUI-MOLY GTD and McIntosh GTD PRO Turner Motorsport BMWs.
