Will Turner said, “Turner Motorsport has won the GT Daytona class at the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen three times; 2014, 2018, and 2021 – one of only two GTD teams in the race this year with three six-hour victories. Last year, Bill Auberlen, Michael Dinan, and Robby Foley had another strong race in the No. 96 LIQUI-MOLY BMW M4 GT3. They did finish on the podium for a second consecutive year, but it was in third-place. Bill and Dillon Machavern did take the Michelin Pilot Challenge victory the day before so needless to say everyone at Turner Motorsport is looking forward to getting back to the Glen.”
With the Six Hour race part of the Michelin Endurance Championship the No. 95 McIntosh BMW M4 GT3 will be entered in the GTD Pro class. As at Daytona and Sebring, Bill Auberlen, John Edwards, and Chandler Hull will be driving. The No. 96 LIQUI-MOLY BMW M4 GT3 will be driven by Michael Dinan, Robby Foley, and Patrick Gallagher in the GT Daytona class. The trio finished second at Sebring in the last round of the Michelin Endurance Cup.
The IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge is also part of the Six Hour weekend. Cameron Lawrence and Robert Megennis will be back in the No. 95 BMW M4 GT4. The car has been repaired after setting the long jump record at the Detroit street race. Vin Barletta and Robby Foley will pilot the No. 96 BMW M4 GT4. The duo stands third in GS driver points.
Practice and qualifying for the Six Hour weekend begins Thursday, June 22. The two-hour Sahlen’s 120 at The Glen takes the green flag at 3:45 p.m. Saturday, June 24 and will be streamed live on Peacock. The Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen gets started at 10:40 a.m. Sunday, June 25. The Six Hour race will be streamed live on Peacock with the final three hours broadcast live on USA Network.
