Auberlen Hull McIntosh BMW M4 GT3 Finishes 5th in Canada

Newton, NH --- July 13, 2023

Turner Motorsport’s weekend at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park was an up and down affair. All six Turner BMWs made strong showings on the track, but a couple had issues, some in the pits, one or two during a race, and one in the tech shed.

Will Turner commented, “Francis and Vin had their best points-scoring VP Challenge weekends of the season. It is disappointing that technical issues after a fine Michelin Pilot Challenge race by Cameron and Robert took the win away from what was a very fine effort. Vin and Robby lost time with repairs, but hung onto second in the IMPC championship. Sunday’s WeatherTech race went sideway’s for Robby and Patrick, but Bill and Chandler brought us a top-five in GTD. CTMP had a bit of everything – good and bad. Luckily, the cars are in good shape for our home race at Lime Rock in less than two weeks so we’ll be ready for a better weekend.”

VP Racing SportsCar Challenge at CTMP – BMW M4 GT4

Francis Selldorff had two good races in the No. 95 GSX class BMW M4 GT4, finishing second in the first 45-minute race, and fourth in Sunday’s second 45-minute contest. His best weekend of the season to-date has him standing third in championship points. Vin Barletta also has his best points scoring race of the year, with a ninth-place finish in Race 1 and an eighth-place finish in Race 2. Barletta stands seventh in GSX driver points.

Rounds 7 and 8 happen at Lime Rock Park on Saturday, July 22.

Michelin Pilot Challenge at CTMP – BMW M4 GT4

Cameron Lawrence and Robert Megennis had an outstanding race at CTMP to cross the finish line first in the No. 95 BMW M4 GT4. The celebration was short-lived however as the car failed post-race technical inspection and the win was disallowed, but that does not take anything away – except the victory, of course – from a fine driving performance.

The No. 96 BMW M4 GT4, of Vin Barletta and Robby Foley, suffered damage early in the race and went laps down during repairs. They preserved to finish 15th and score enough points to maintain second-place in driver points.

The two-hour Lime Rock Park 100 is up next. The race takes the green flag at 4:15 p.m. Saturday, July 22 and will be streamed live on Peacock.

WeatherTech SportsCar Championship at CTMP – BMW M4 GT3

The Turner BMW M4 GT3 machines entered in Sunday’s Chevrolet Grand Prix had mixed results. The No. 97 McIntosh BMW M4 GT3, of Bill Auberlen and Chandler Hull, stayed out of trouble and finished a competitive fifth-place at the end of the two-hour-and-forty-minute contest. The No. 96 LIQUI-MOLY BMW M4 GT3, of Robby Foley and Patrick Gallagher, had two issues. The first was a fueling issue on lap 29 that resulted in a drive-through penalty that effectively ended their race. The second was a collision in Turn five on lap 86 that broke the left front suspension and definitely ended their race.

The FCP Euro Northeast Grand Prix is scheduled to start at 12:10 p.m. Saturday, July 22. The two-hour-and-forty-minute race will be broadcast live on USA beginning at 12:00 p.m. ET.
