Turner Motorsport and VIRginia International Raceway have indeed shared some great races over the years. This weekend’s Michelin GT Challenge weekend continued the trend with success in VP Racing Challenge, Michelin Pilot Challenge, and WeatherTech SportsCar Championship races.

WeatherTech SportsCar Championship

No. 96 BELLE HAVEN M4 GT3 - Robby Foley and Patrick Gallagher – SECOND

No. 97 McIntosh BMW M4 GT3 – Bill Auberlen and Chandler Hull – FOURTH

Foley and Gallagher stand fifth in GTD championship points and are back on track to move up with two races remaining.

Michelin Pilot Challenge

No. 96 BMW M4 GT4 – Robby Foley and Vin Barletta – SECOND

No. 95 BMW M4 GT4 - Cameron Lawrence and Robert Megennis – TWELFTH

 The runner-up finish moves Barletta and Foley to within only 10 points behind the Grand Sport points leaders with races at Indy and Michelin Road Atlanta remaining.

VP Racing Challenge

Race 1 –

No. 95 BMW M4 GSX – Francis Selldorff – FIRST

No. 96 BMW M4 GSX – Vin Barletta – THIRD

Race 2 -

No. 95 BMW M4 GSX – Francis Selldorff – SECOND

No. 96 BMW M4 GSX – Vin Barletta – ELEVENTH

 The first and second-place finishes see Selldorff increasing his class points lead to 230 before the final two races during the Petit Le Mans weekend.

Up next for the Turner Motorsport GT3 and BMW GT4 BMWs are races at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course. The TireRack.com Battle On The Bricks weekend is scheduled for Sept. 16 – 17. The GSX class BMW M4s will finish the VP Racing Challenge at the Petit Le Mans weekend Oct. 11 – 14.
