Turner Motorsport Looking for Big Things at The Brickyard.

Newton, NH --- Sept. 12, 2023

Turner Motorsport BMW M4 GT4 and M4 GT3 machines will compete in Grand Sport and GTD classes respectively this weekend at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course.

Will Turner said, “Everyone that races at The Brickyard is looking to make some history. Turner Motorsport is no different. Robby and Vin are closing in on the Michelin Pilot Challenge title, so a mistake free four hours will be our focus on Saturday. In the GTD race we were P2 and P4 at the VIR checkered flag so we’ll be looking to improve on that at Indy.”

WeatherTech SportsCar Championship – BMW M4 GT3

The No. 96 LIQUI-MOLY BMW M4 GT3, of Robby Foley and Patrick Gallagher, had a strong race at VIRginia International Raceway to finish second and solidify their spot in the championship top-five. Turner Motorsport has strong GT experience at Indy, finishing First in the 2022 Intercontinental GT Challenge 8 Hours race (Foley, Michael Dinan, and John Edwards). Bill Auberlen, Chandler Hull, and the No. 97 McIntosh BMW M4 GT3 finished just off the podium in fourth at VIR.

Michelin Pilot Challenge – BMW M4 GT4

Vin Barletta, Robby Foley, and the No. 96 BMW M4 GT4 will have double the regular race length to continue their charge to the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge title as this weekend’s Indianapolis Motor Speedway 240 is four hours long. A second-place finish at VIRginia International Raceway has the duo only 10 points out of the class championship lead and Indy is the penultimate round. Yup, that means only Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta is left after Indy and this writer did not forget his only time in the season to use the word penultimate. The No. 95 BMW M4 GT4, of Cameron Lawrence and Robert Megennis, finished 11th at VIR (after being punted by a lap down geriatric) Lawrence qualified the car on the pole. They’ll be looking for a podium finish at Indy.

VP Racing Challenge

The final two VP Racing Challenge races of the season will happen during the Petit Le Mans weekend four weeks after Indy. Francis Selldorff will be looking to win the class championship in the No. 95 BMW M4 GT4. Selldorff currently leads the standings by 230 points. Selldorff's teammate, Vin Barletta, stands third in points in the No. 96 BMW M4 GT4.

The weekend begins with practice for all classes on Friday, Sept. 15th. The four-hour IMPC Indianapolis Motor Speedway 240 starts at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 16th and be broadcast live on Peacock. The two-hour-and-forty-minute IWSC TireRack.com Battle On The Bricks race takes the green flag at 1:10 p.m. Sunday. The race will be broadcast live on NBC.
