Part of owning a BMW is the relationships we develop with our cars through years of driving pleasure and maintenance services alike. It is critical to guarantee the job is right the first time. With recommended OEM supplied components and by following the maintenance schedule, your BMW is sure to continue giving you years of enjoyment on the street or track. All the filters, service kits, service manuals, fluids, and more are right here to help keep your BMW in perfect shape.
Timing chains can cause catastrophic problems with your N52 engine if it doesn't function properly. Common symptoms of failure include excessive vibration or “slap” from the timing chain, and the possibility of plastic particles throughout the oil. Symptoms typically begin to surface between 80,000 and 100,000 miles. If left untouched, the issue can compound itself so far as to allow the timing chain to jump out of time, leaving you with a potentially damaged head and larger repair costs. This kit has been assembled using genuine BMW and high quality aftermarket components. From new timing chain guides, to a replacement oil pan drain plug, this kit has you covered to assure that all the needed parts are on hand and ready to install.

*Includes spark plugs that are two steps colder. We recommend these for cars that will be track driven only*
Every 60-80,000 miles, we recommend replacing your spark plugs to ensure your ignition system is running optimally. Over time carbon can build up around the head of the spark plug and decrease spark strength and effectiveness, leading to weaker fuel mixture detonation, misfires, and potential check engine lights. To prevent this, have put together our High-Performance Ignition Service Kits. These kits include new Bav Auto High-Performance Ignition Coils, new spark plugs, dielectric grease, and a BMW spark plug service label to keep track of when your spark plugs were replaced.
Bav Auto's Ignition coils feature core windings that have been modified to increase firepower and promote a faster, more efficient burn. This gives your BMW/MINI increased torque in the lower range of RPM and more horsepower in the upper range. Exact improvements depend on the current condition of your engine, but you'll definitely feel the difference. They'll also improve your fuel economy.
From 1974 to 2019, Bavarian Autosport was one of the premier vendors for BMW and MINI auto parts. We are happy to preserve the Bav Auto legacy by continuing to carry their high-quality products into the future. All Bav Auto parts will remain unchanged in design and sourced from the same OEM suppliers to ensure long-lasting reliability. We trust these parts, accessories, and upgrades so confidently that we back every Bavarian Autosport branded component with a 2-year warranty.
As a leading source of high-performance BMW parts and accessories since 1993, we at Turner Motorsport are honored to be the go-to supplier for tens of thousands of enthusiasts the world over. With over two decades of parts, service, and racing experience under our belt, we provide only quality performance and replacement parts. All of our performance parts are those we would (and do!) install and run on our own cars, as well as replacement parts that are Genuine BMW or from OEM manufacturers. We only offer parts we know you can trust to perform!
Don't buy into the hype that your car is maintenace-free! It was only free during the BMW warranty period, which simply deferred maintenance. Take charge of the care and servicing of your investment and it will reward you in driving pleasure and in your bank account. Using a preventative service schedule will not only keep your BMW running like new, but will also prevent a more costly repair and inconvenience in the future. Not to mention, complete and thorough maintenance records can add hundreds or thousands to a selling price of a used car and give a buyer unmatched piece-of-mind.
Our approach to servicing and caring for newer BMW models is not radically different than when we opened nearly twenty years ago. The design and materials of some components have changed but that only affects WHEN you should replace something, not IF. Through our own Service Department, and thousands of sales annually, we have put together packages for your newer BMW model that will reinject some life into your car and keep it performing at its peak. We use Original Equipment (OE) or Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts that we have trusted since we opened in 1993. In some cases, we recommend a performance alternative part that we have found works better, or resolves a design flaw, with the original. So you get top quality parts, first-rate service , and unbeatable expertise .

The N55 in your BMW is an interference engine, meaning that if the timing chain were to fail your engine would suffer catastrophic damage due to valvetrain components colliding with each other. Over time the timing chain will start to wear and stretch, potentially causing it to skip timing or just completely fail. Also, the timing tensioners themselves could fail! Early symptoms of timing chain wear include front end noise not associated with VANOS, or slapping noises coming from the timing cover. Turner Motorsport has assembled a complete kit that includes everything necessary, as well as small hardware, to completely service the timing on your N55. Tools needed to do the job can be found on our site as well.

Just like the rest of your vehicle's major systems, the cooling system must also be addressed periodically to ensure proper cooling and component reliability. Plastic and rubber components become brittle and prone to splitting or cracking after long periods of heating and cooling cycles, especially in colder climates! The coolant itself can degrade or become contaminated, leading to potential corrosion or freezing issues. Finally, thermostats and sensors can fail completely, preventing proper cooling and/or coolant temperature readings to become inaccurate.
To make sure you are not left stranded on the side of the road with an overheated engine, we have put together this Basic Cooling System Service kit. This kit contains all of the most-likely-to-fail components, giving you peace of mind knowing your engine will continue to run cool for another 60,000+ miles.
See kit contents below for all included components.
This cooling overhaul will cover just about everything you could replace on the 328's cooling system. We start with the basic water pump and thermostat bundle. These are already vital to the health and durability of the N52 328i. But to properly maintain these cars for the long term, the rest of the cooling system must be refreshed and preventatively replaced. Here you can add a radiator, expansion tank, all of the 328 cooling hoses, and the BMW antifreeze. This package fits 328i/328xi with N52 engine and automatic transmission. Some of the components are different for the automatic models because of the auto transmission oil cooler.
The sophisticated electronics of the ECU and water pump means catastrophic overheating should be a thing of the past. But the downside is that the electronics can shut down without any warning or symptoms. And troubleshooting is equally frustrating since the water pump electronics are not readable or serviceable. There are several clues to a faulty thermostat or water pump - the fan runs at full speed all the time (even immediately on a cold start), pending (soft) fault code for low coolant flow, or the water pump can be heard running constantly. But when the pump fails it's an immediate shut down of the engine which can be a major inconvenience and lead to additional repairs that might have been avoided with preventative maintance. We recommend a full cooling system overhaul on the E90/E92 every 80-90,000 miles and to check for soft/pending codes at every 5,000 mile service .
Base Cooling Overhaul Package - Water Pump and Thermostat
Includes: + Genuine BMW electric water pump, p/n 11517586925 + mounting screws for water pump (set of 3), p/n 11510392553 + OEM Behr thermostat, p/n 11537549476 + Original BMW connecting hose from thermostat to water pump, p/n 11537521049 + OEM-style hose clamps for hose (x 2)
The water pump on the N52 engine has more cooling responsibilities than ever before. The good news is that the pump only works when, and only as much, as it needs to. That means the system can actually stop the pump when it doesn't need to be running. The bad news is that it's now an electrical part, so a failure is usually immediate and with no warning. The preventative replacement is your only insurance from a very inconvenient and costly breakdown in the future. Plus you get the very latest BMW water pump design with any improvements they've made since your original pump was installed.
Cooling Hoses
With regular driving the hoses should last a very long time. Even the plastic connectors seem to be holding up well. But as a preventative measure new hoses are recommended. We have also seen issues with re-using hoses as the spring connectors get weak over time and may not have the strength to hold the hose in place. They seem to have a tough time holding tension especially when they have been removed and reinstalled. In the interests of a thorough overhaul we recommend replacing these 328 water hoses during this job (see diagram):
17127531579, upper radiator hose
17127564478, lower radiator hose
11537613176, water pump to engine
11537534880, gasket for #176 hose
11537545890, thermostat to cylinder head (includes new o-ring)
17117524710, radiator to auto trans cooler There are other hoses too but they are not often replaced during a radiator swap (radiator vent hose and heater core hose) and they don't see much wear. We offer these as well if you want a complete set (see Additional Items at the bottom of the page).
Expansion Tank Options
The expansion tank on the 328 is not prone to failures (unlike previous 3-series cars) so a new one is not strictly required. There aren't many seams or stress points for it to crack and we haven't heard of too many issues. But we wanted to offer it as part of a complete overhaul in case you want to cover everything. Simiarly, the level sensor is not required unless you're getting erroneous 'low coolant' warnings from the dash/iDrive. We do strongly recommend replacing the cap because that is designed to be the weak point in the system. The cap is what regulates the pressure inside the system and it should be replaced every few years anyway.

Coolant Temp Sensors
There are two coolant temp sensors on the 328 SULEV - in the lower radiator hose and in the cylinder head. Both feed coolant temps to the ECU to regulate the water pump and cooling fan. You should replace the one in the lower radiator hose because it's one of the main sources for coolant leaks, especially when the old sensor is re-used in a new hose. The sensor in the cylinder head is not as prone to leaks and it's easily accessible so you don't have to replace it right away. Here you can add a radiator, expansion tank, cooling hoses, and the BMW antifreeze. This package fits 328i/328xi with N52 engine and manual transmission.
11537545890, thermostat to cylinder head (includes new o-ring) (D) There are other hoses too but they are not often replaced during a radiator swap (radiator vent hose and heater core hose) and they don't see much wear.

Ignition coils are key to the efficiency and performance of your BMW. With a faulty coil the spark plug is not burning the air/fuel mixture properly and that can lead to problems anywhere in the engine and exhaust (including catalytic converters and O2 sensors). Problems with one or more coils will cause a fault code but not always a check engine light. A misfire code may be related to an ignition coil but could be from other things as well. Sometimes a visual inspection of a coil and coil boot will give an indication of a failure. You can also move coils around to different cylinder banks to see if the misfire code follows a suspect coil. We suggest always having one or two coils on hand to keep as spares.
This is the current replacement for some BMW 6 and 8-cylinder engines built in the late 2000s and after. BMW has made numerous changes to ignition coil part numbers in recent years but has approved this part number to work in the vehicles listed below. It's listed as a replacement coil for N20, N55, and S55 engines. In March 2015 BMW approved it for N51/N52 engines. This part number replaces the previous BMW part number 12137594937 for the cars listed below.
A simple yet effective upgrade, these Bav Auto High-Performance Ignition Coils feature modified core windings that offer increased firepower and promote a faster, more efficient burn. The result is greater low-end torque and increased horsepower in the mid to top-end. When used in a properly functioning engine, a noticeable difference can be felt. In addition to better torque and horsepower, fuel economy is also improved! These coils come with new spark plug boots.

Red Line 75W90 is a full synthetic high-performance gear oil that is an excellent substitute for expensive factory fluid and an upgrade over off-the-shelf economy fluid. Red Line thoroughly evaluates the manufacturer's recommendations and only makes a fluid recommendation if their own product meets or exceeds the original specification. In many cases the Red Line synthetic will outperform the factory supplied fluids. We've been using Red Line Oil in our BMWs since we opened in 1994 and it remains our best selling BMW differential fluid. 75/90 is the weight most commonly used in BMW differentials since the 1960s, including the factory clutch-type limited-slip diffs (exceptions being M3/M5/M6 cars since 2001). We use 75W90 in nearly all BMW chassis and the custom differentials that we sell. It's great for the street where the polyol-ester base has natural lubricity and friction modifiers lead to smoother and quieter operation with lower operating temps than the factory fluid. We also use it in some track cars that don't already use the more aggressive 75/90NS fluid (without friction modifiers).
Recommended or exceeds specifications for API GL-5, GL-6, MT-1, MIL-L-2105E, SAE J2360, and Chrysler spec MS-9763. Matches the specifications for the factory BMW SAF-XO diff fluid (#07512293972). Show More Show Less
