BMW Spring & Shock Packages (BMW Performance and More)

These suspension packages consist of H&R Springs combined with Bilstein Sport shocks and struts. This combination works exceptionally well on street-driven cars when coil overs are not available or not desired. These springs and shocks will lower the ride height, firm up the suspension, decrease bodyroll, and provide better handling. There's almost no downside save for a slightly firmer ride.

A shock/spring package is a direct replacement for the existing shocks, struts, and springs in your car. Unlike coil overs, there are no adjustments to be made or complicated mechanisms to use and the parts do not require special bushings and mounts. Our suspension packages install with the same original mounts as your stock shocks and springs (new parts are generally recommended of course). For a simple, inexpensive, and hassle-free suspension upgrade, a shock/spring package is impossible to beat. Bilstein shocks and H&R springs each carry a limited lifetime warranty.

If you're installing a rear shock on your E90 or E92 that utilizes a Spherical Bearing or Rod-End, common in racing shocks/dampers, this is one of the rear mounts needed to attach your shock to the camber arm (this is the LOWER mount). Developed for our Grand Am Cup 328i race car, this lower shock mount works on all 2006+ E90/E92 including 325i, 328i, 330i, & 335i. This price is for a pair of rear shock mounts.

Our Racing Rear Lower Shock Mount is machined out of aircraft grade aluminum. We include both the TSU9007B15 and TSU9007B50 bushing kits with this package.

If E30 needs a little more pep in the corners, this is an excellent suspension package. H&R Sport springs and Bilstein Sport shocks for the E30 will lower the ride height for an aggressive stance and stiffer springs will improve handling and balance in the corners. This suspension is a favorite among our E30 fans because the car corners better without a punishing ride. Perfect for daily-driven E30s who want to carry more speed through the corners.

H&R Sport springs lower the ride height by 1.25" and stiffens the spring rate. Both combine to lower the car's center of gravity and reduce the amount of bodyroll in corners. The springs are progressive rate so their initial stiffness is actually very compliant and it becomes stiffer as the spring is compressed. This is great for street cars that see bumps and potholes where suspension compliance is key. Overall, they are about 40% stiffer than the stock original springs.

We use Bilstein Sport shocks as the dampers and they feature Bilstein's patented and innovative valving system. With this system, small bumps and impacts are absorbed as they should be. But the shocks stiffen for cornering and other suspension motions. It's the best of both worlds as the shock self-adjusts based on suspension motion. These fit with the stock strut and shock mounts, making for an easy and clean install.

Fitment note: Front strut inserts fit the larger 51mm strut housings. These were standard for all 6-cylinder E30s, all M3, and 1989-1992 318i/is. Other models used a smaller strut housing which requires a different Bilstein insert.

The rear springs on the 2001-2005 E46 325xi and 330xi models have a chronic broken spring problem. If it hasn't happened to you yet it will. Springs are nothing more than exposed steel and they rust easily. After a while a section of the spring actually breaks off. The typical Xi was sold in markets with heavy salt and moisture anyway and water can pool in the bottom spring pad.

A broken spring is very dangerous - the spring is no longer mounted correctly in the suspension and it cannot support the weight of the car, especially when cornering. The ride also suffers as the suspension is no longer able to absorb the bumps and impacts from the road. Aside from a visual inspection of the spring itself you might notice a clunking sound or banging noise coming from the front or rear. An inspection of the noise should also include other related items in the suspension: bushings, ball joints, links, mounts, etc. We also recommend replacing the rubber spring pads on the top and bottom of the spring because they lose their shape over time. Check if your car has 5mm or 15mm thick pads.

The factory BMW springs sell for $140+ each. We sold and replaced enough while working in New England that we were able to get a strong grasp of the issue and come up with our own springs that are an improvement over the factory springs in every way. These springs are made in Germany using high grade spring steel that is then shot-peened for longer life and powder-coated for protection. These are the same height as the stock replacement BMW springs which makes them a direct replacement.

New mounts should be installed whenever you are replacing the struts and shocks on your E90 and E92 3-series. The mounts keep the cabin isolated from annoying noises and impacts. Just like any other rubber mount, these will go bad over time, which allows more harshness and vibration to the chassis along with clunking noises. Replace them now to avoid doubling the labor charges down the road. When installing new shocks, that is the perfect time to also replace the mounts.     Rubber mounts in any position of a vehicle are usually designed with comfort and longevity in mind leaving performance as a sacrifice. This kind of sacrifice here at Turner just won't do, so we did what we do best and designed a solid monoball mount.

    Our engineering team first wanted to tackle the issue with wear found on rubber mounts. Due to their combination of steel, rubber, and low mounting location, these mounts are a direct target for deterioration and failure. As they are positioned out in the open and exposed to the elements, bonded steel and rubber components inevitably hold moisture, separating as the steel bearing begins to rust. Our solution was to offer a rebuildable mount with a Teflon lined bearing for increased durability, combined with a blue anodized body and melonite coated bushing sleeves for corrosion resistance.

    The performance side of these mounts is primarily found in the articulation allowed by the bearing. Rubber mounts do not allow for proper free damper movement, hindering shock performance. By eliminating the deflection found in factory rubber mounts and allowing full shock articulation, this solid monoball design eliminates slop and maximizes shock efficiency and performance, allowing for more predictable handling on the street or the track - with almost zero added noise, vibration, and harshness.

    The Pro Kit uses an Eibach Pro Kit spring with Bilstein's Sport shocks and struts. Instead of taking parts from different manufacturers, Bilstein has tested the performance of the Eibach spring and tailored their shocks to be a true match for the new spring rate and ride height. This is known as a matched shock and spring and very few tuning companies take these extra steps. Eibach springs tend to be softer overall than most other aftermarket springs, which ensures the ride stays close to a stock comfort while still giving you a lowered stance and improved handling.

    One of the secrets of the M3's acclaimed handling is its suspension bushings and mounts. That's why you absolutely cannot overlook replacing the rubber mounts when installing new struts and shocks. Since these pieces are mostly rubber, they dry up and crack over time. Re-using them lead to problems with fitment or noise, and may have safety issues as well. These mounts and pads are the perfect complement to your new shocks to help restore your car's handling and performance.

    This mount package contains all of the commonly replaced rubber mounts and pads for the front and rear shocks on a 2001-2006 E46 M3 (incl CSL model). These are the direct replacement pieces - there's no additional labor, time, or effort and special tools are not required.

    The basic E46 M3 mount package includes:

    These camber plates are perfect for the enthusiast owner who wants a high quality design with a motorsports background. Knowing a full race kit on the street is not often the best option, we took the best features from the Race Camber Plates and incorporated them into a fresh Street design -

    The Turner E46 M3 Street Camber Plates are the most advanced design on the market. These are designed specifically for the E46 M3 - no shortcuts or cookie-cutter components. We started with a fresh design to make these very user friendly and easy to install and set up. The E46 M3 front suspension has unique geometry and the strut is mounted at an angle that can put significant side loading on the strut shaft if it's not located properly. The location and angles for the main bearing were carefully engineered to allow the proper motion ratio and strut angles during adjustment. This greatly reduces bending forces on the strut itself which improves performance and longevity. By designing for one chassis we're able to focus on what works best in that application - proper fitment and operation without unnecessary adapters, easy-to-use camber and caster adjustments, and an intelligent modular design.

    For street use we added a pliable urethane bushing to absorb vibration and a special base design that works with the factory radial bearing and spring perch. The radial bearing allows the spring to rotate instead of twisting and binding. By re-using the factory radial bearing we can keep the assembled stack height lower for maximized shock travel. It's also a commonly-available item that you can get from any BMW dealer at a low price. All of the things that make it work well in the factory application carry over to our design. You can use our camber plates with a stock sized spring, 60mm, or 2.5" springs. Use your stock spring perch/bearing with stock-sized springs. The 60mm and 2.5" upper spring perches are sold separately. The beauty of our design is that you can use the factory radial bearing with any of these springs.

    Another important feature of the Turner Camber Plates is the size of the upper plate. Our plates have a very large surface area to better spread strut forces through the strut tower. A smaller upper plate, like those found on competitor's kits, will localize strut forces and contribute to strut tower deformation ('strut tower mushrooming'). This is a very important feature especially as these cars get older and spend more time on the track. Deformed strut towers are a serious performance and safety concern and our camber plates are properly designed to handle the loads. The factory strut reinforcement plates are not required with our camber plates (but you can use them if you want to).

    Since this design is specific to the E46 M3, we can build it with the bare minimum of adapters and extra hardware. This not only cuts down on confusion but makes it easier to assemble and operate. We use the correct-sized bearing for the 16mm strut shaft; no sleeves or bearing adapters required. The original tapered lower mount support and a small stainless steel spacer from our kit are all that's required to install. We have used our camber plates with most of the major strut manufacturers on the market - stock Sachs/Boge, Bilstein, Koni, H&R, ST, and KW. Our camber plates work with any strut that is designed to accept the factory strut mount.

    Made in the USAIf you're installing racing rear shocks with a spherical bearing end you will need this adapter mount for the top of the rear shock. Spherical or rod-end bearings are common on race shocks but they are somewhat universal and mounts are not usually included. We designed and engineered these mounts for our E9X M3 and E90 328i IMSA/CTSCC racecars. Our cacing upper shock mount is machined out of aircraft grade aluminum with a tough anodize finish and high grade hardware. Due to the wide variety of spherical bearings and rod-ends found on race shocks, the bushing kit is sold seperately (see chart for bushing sizes).
