The BMW E46 3-Series chassis is one of the most rigid and well built BMW chassis to date. Even so, it still has some of the traditional BMW weak points. One of these is the rear sway bar / swaybar mounts. From chassis to chassis the problem has not been identical, but all the damage we have seen has been related to metal fatigue. The metal fatigue is due to the constant twisting and side loading of the sway bar. These forces on the sway bar will cause the mounting points to fail over time. The failure can happen faster with sway bar bind due to improper maintenance of the bushings. However, proper sway bar bushing maintenance does not totally eliminate the problem. In the case of the E46 the sheet metal for the bushing bracket does not have enough material to support the loads being transferred to the subframe. We have designed the reinforcement to strengthen and redirect the load to stronger sheet metal. Requires Welding. Does not fit M3.

This is a NEW replacement polyurethane bushing used in our E46 M3 Front Street Camber Plates. This is a custom-manufactured part for Turner Motorsport, made with our own specifications. Replacement is straight-forward but does require the camber plates to be removed from the car. Price is for each bushing.

When it comes to control arms on the track, making them as stiff as you can (usually using solid mounts) is the best way to increase your driving precision by eliminating the deflection of rubber. The next best thing to create a balance would be to stiffen up the control arm with polyurethane, giving you the option of a more stock like feel with 80a or closer to the solid feel with 95a durometers. These poly bushings will give your control arms a direct connection between your suspension and the body of the car eliminating the slop felt under take-off and braking so you feel more in control of your vehicle.

If you're installing a rear shock on your E30/E36/E46/Z3/Z4 that utilizes a Spherical Bearing or Rod-End, commonly referred to as an "eye mount", and used with racing shocks/dampers, this is the upper rear mounts needed to attach your shock to the chassis. The mount is machined out of aircraft grade aluminum with a high quality coating and premium hardware. Note: 2 Bushing kits are included for common eyelet bearings; see chart for sizes. If you do not see the bushing kit you need, give us a call and have our in-house machine shop build you custom bushings.
Our Racing Rear Lower Shock Mount is machined out of aircraft grade aluminum. We include both the TSU9007B15 and TSU9007B50 bushing kits with this package.

The Turner Motorsport Oil Temperature Sensor Flange was designed to get your oil temperature from the best possible location: the sump. Most of the factory and aftermarket sensors are located after the oil pump, which does not give you an accurate temp reading of the oil that is actually lubricating the engine. At the factory temp sensor location the sensor picks up heat not only from the oil stream, but also from the oil pump and housing which will skew the reading. Other aftermarket adapters can be give inaccurate readings from their location and/or design limitations. And may require making unnecessary modifications. By relocating the sensor to the oil sump it reduces clutter and sits flush against the bottom of the oil pan to avoid potential clearance issues. Testing that we have done on and off the track shows that the sump location is the most accurate. We accomplish this by removing the factory oil level sensor or block off plate and using the existing hole and bolt pattern on the oil pan with no additional modifications. Any sensor with an M12 x 1.50mm thread can be used in the flange.
Note that removing the factory oil level sensor will trigger the low oil fault/warning light. There's no elegant way around this but since the Temp Flange is considered a race-only part we assume you will be checking your own oil level anyway or be using a stand-alone dash/engine management system that does not track oil level. And having the most accurate oil temp is more important.

Hub Extenders are the solution that no one else has! BMW wheels must fit on a hubcentric lip to be securely (and safely) mounted to the hub. But with a 3, 5, 8, or some 10mm spacers on a lip measuring no more than 11mm that presented a huge problem - there would be no lip left over for the wheel to rest on! As one of the world's leading BMW tuners and race teams, we came up with a way to extend the lip and get back the lost surface area for the wheel to safely mount on. Our Hub Extenders are the first of their kind.
Hub Extenders fit where the stock dust cap is usually fitted on the front wheel hub. Pop out the dust cap and tap the Hub Extender into its place. It becomes an extension of the original lip. These will only work on the front hubs of the cars listed below because the rear hub is tapered inside (narrows down). These will not work with Xi AWD models because the front axle shaft protrudes through the hub. With Hub Extenders in place you can use nearly any flat wheel spacer - 3mm, 5mm, 7.5mm, 10mm, or possibly more without worrying that the wheel will not be securely seated. This is perfect for wheels that have chamfers on the back of the wheel that don't match up to existing spacers (Kosei K1 spacers for example).

Wheel Limitations. Special consideration needs to be taken since wheel design and manufacture differ from brand to brand. The key dimension is the dept of the center bore. Some wheels won't work with larger spacers and a Hub Extender because of the additional protrusion into the center bore. Please measure your wheel to make sure it can accommodate an extra 2.5-5mm of hub extending into the center bore. Click here for a diagram.
Hub Limitations. BMW has multiple hub designs but not all are compatible with our Hub Extenders. The inside lip of the hub must be flat and smooth for at least 13mm (the depth our Extender fits into the hub). Some BMW hubs have a bowl shape or have tapered inside walls which will prevent the Hub Extender from seating all the way. Remove the hub dust cap to check before opening your Turner Hub Extenders.

Turner Motorsport Bushing Limiters were the first - and still the best - RTAB Limiter on the market. Instead of a 'floating' design that can rattle and wear, our aluminum Limiters are fixed in place and feature an anti-stick Teflon coating so the bushing never sticks and squeaks.
The great defect in the rear trailing arm bushing (RTAB) is that the soft rubber design allows too much movement and extension during cornering. The bushing is not strong enough to resist hard cornering loads. A stiffer bushing helps but has trade-offs in ride and comfort. If you want to maintain your ride comfort with rubber bushings, these RTAB Limiters will prolong their life and improve handling.
These Limiters sit on either side of the bushing and limit its movement. By limiting motion the bushing effectively becomes stiffer, improving handling and reducing toe change during cornering. When not cornering, the Limiters are not in play so ride comfort remains the same as stock. Our Limiters are permanently bolted to the housing that surrounds the bushing. Other types of Limiters 'float' between the bushing and housing, which can rattle and squeak as the bushings move. Instead of plastic or Delrin that will wear over time, our RTAB Limiters are made from aluminum with a tough hardcoat anodize (tougher than standard anodizing) and finished with a Teflon anti-stick coating.

The motor mount area on a subframe is one of those easily-forgotton areas that may be hiding a serious problem. The subframe on the E46 has a gusset ('ear') welded on for the motor mounts. These gussets take the stress of the motor mount as the engine torques (more upgrades = more torque = more stress). Worn motor mounts only transfer more stress to the subframe. Unfortunately, the sheetmetal will fatigue over time even though the gusset is reinforced from the factory. Check for cracks along the welds and an uneven plane from the subframe to the gusset. A total failure of the guesset will shift your engine to the side and forward, taking out many other components along the way and leading to a very costly repair. Ignition coils are key to the efficiency and performance of your BMW. With a faulty coil the spark plug is not burning the air/fuel mixture properly and that can lead to problems anywhere in the engine and exhaust (including catalytic converters and O2 sensors). Problems with one or more coils will cause a fault code but not always a check engine light. A misfire code may be related to an ignition coil but could be from other things as well. Sometimes a visual inspection of a coil and coil boot will give an indication of a failure. You can also move coils around to different cylinder banks to see if the misfire code follows a suspect coil. We suggest always having one or two coils on hand to keep as spares.
This is the OEM Bosch ignition coil that is the current replacement for most BMW 6 and 8-cylinder engines built for the 2001-2008 model years (and more). It's listed as a replacement coil for M54, M56, S54, N62, and N73 engines (but may be split into specific model years, see below). BMW has made numerous changes to ignition coil part numbers in recent years but has approved this part number to work in the vehicles listed below. This part number replaces previous BMW part numbers 12130390064, 12130148594, and 12137551260.
This Bosch part also satisfies BMW's service bulletin for 2001-2003 E46 M3 ignition coils (SIB 12 24 05). That SIB calls for Bremi brand coils but BMW has replaced the Bremi brand with Bosch.
